Fix this entry with HijackThis:

O4 - Startup: Scheduler.lnk = C:\Program Files\SpyCatcher\Scheduler daemon.exe

Reboot and let me know how the computer is working now.
Done. I do not get the "scheduler daemon.exe" error message now.

But,
I do not seem to be able to open IE at all now from the Start Menu, nor the Quick Launch. Again, each time I try, I see a new listing of IEXPLORE.EXE in the Process Tab of Windows Task Manager, but I do not get a window.

I also noticed that I am still getting messages from S&D that seems to deny MCUpdate.exe and Start Page (which appears to be the homepage I ahve been trying to reset to).

Here is the Spybot Log:
9/22/2005 10:44:28 PM Denied value "Start Page" (new data: "http://my.yahoo.com/s/guest-promo.php") changed in Browser page!

Also noticed: Spybot seems to block some Skype process too: 9/23/2005 7:34:47 PM Denied value "Skype" (new data: ""C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe" /nosplash /minimized") added in System Startup user entry!
TeaTimer should be asking whether to allow those changes. Is it not promting you to allow/deny? Do you have your Windows XP install CD? We may need it to check if any needed files have been removed from the computer.
No, it doesn't allow a choice. In fact, the message window always appears to have an object error of it's own and the main button appears as blank. I can only check or uncheck the "remember this decision" box (clicking on where the button should be only results in toggling the check box too) and then I just click the "x" in the upper right corner to close the window. It has always run that way since initial installation. I do have the System Recovery CD/DVD for my Windows XP Home Edition.
I finally found what should hopefully fix the problem with TeaTimer in this thread.

Change your homepage to whatever you want and when the TeaTimer box appears click on it to make it the active screen. Now your option to accept or deny do not show up because of a bug in it so you will need to press the appropriate key on the keyboard.

a = accept change
d = deny change

You can do this for each of the items you have had a problem with.

——————————-

Now for the Internet Explorer problem:

Please check to see if any of the system files are corrupt. You'll need your Windows CD to make this work.

Click Start > Run > and type sfc /scannow (There is a space between the c and /.)
:D HURRAH!!! :D

ALL SEEMS WELL! :thumbup:
