Got rid of the Megasear toolbar by looking at someone else's log report with the same issue, but still have lost my capability to search straight from IE's toolbar. Can someone help? This is the latest copy of my log from Hijack This. Any suggestions?

Thanks for your help. I have followed your instructions. I did delete C:\WINDOWS\System32\sclyfgfm.exe. New HJT log is below. As far as how my PC is behaving, I can now search directly from IE's address bar!!! However, I am still getting pop-ups which I wasn't experiencing a week ago. Also, a box continues to display for just a second upon booting. It is only for a mili-second though so I have not been able to determine what it is, but it looks like a DOS type window. Ensure that an Antivirus is updated weekly and running. AVG antivirus from Grisoft is a very good FREE antivirus program.

Make sure you have the latest critical updates from windows update.

SpywareBlaster will prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.

IE-SPYAD puts over 4000 known 'bad' sites into your IE restricted zone so that they cannot install malware on your PC.

Google toolbar has a very good built in popup blocker with a nice search bar. To provide privacy, select disable advanced features when installing.

Check your system for latest virus definitions with an online virus scan every week or two.
