Dont see a firewall but I do see Norton antivirus, is there an issue? Did you have a firewall at one time? Did you have Norton and uninstall it?

My internet is not running right. The browser sometimes doesn't come up at all, and if it does, it takes forever and a few times of hitting refresh. I noticed it start to do that after I installed WinMIX. I have uninstalled it, but it still is bad. The Norton I have is probably outdated. I have not bought anything new since I bought the computer 2 or 3 years ago. I thought I had a firewall, but I do not even know where to look.

Please download and run CWShredder. Make sure that all browser windows are closed with the exception of Cwshredder and choose FIX.

Please download and run (latest version 1.4) Spybot Search & Destroy and AdAware. Then follow the instructions in the links below to run.

Spybot Tutorial

AdAware Tutorial



Please do an online scan,

Make sure that you choose "fix" or "clean".

Reboot and post a new HiJackThis log by clicking on "add reply" at the bottom right.

If any of the scans lock up please boot to safe mode and try them.

I ran everything but the Panda Scanware did not ask me to fix or repair. It did say I had 1 virus that is disinfected, 1 dialer No Disinfect and 15 adware/spyware No disinfect. Below is my new HJT log.

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Save the logfile from the scan.

Restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.

Do the logs look any better? I had someone come to the house from Mediacom. I wasn't home so I am not sure what they did, but it was something outside. However, my computer in general is running much, much quicker. What firewall do you recommend? I so appreciate your help with this! You're awesome!
