Hi there!

I hope you can help. I defragged the system. I ran Spybot S&D and AdAware, neither one found anything but cookies. I emptied the temp folders and internet temp folders. I also just ran HiJack This and I will attach the log below.

The system functions very slowly when it tries to access a very important program on our network. Other users who access this program are not having the same problem.

We need to disable your Microsoft AntiSpyware Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes that we need to make.

Open Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Click on Options, Settings.
In the left pane, click on Real-time Protection.
Under Startup Options uncheck Enable the Microsoft AntiSpyware Security Agents on startup (recommended).
Under Real-time spyware threat protection uncheck Enable real-time spyware threat protection (recommended).
After you uncheck these, click on the Save button and close Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Right click on the Microsoft AntiSpyware icon on the taskbar and select Shutdown Microsoft AntiSpyware.

After all of the fixes are complete it is very important that you enable Real-time Protection again.

CLOSE ALL WINDOWS (even this one) AND PROGRAMS!!!!

Run Hijack This!
Click "Do a systen scan only".
Then "check" the box to the left of these item(s):

Reboot.

Another way to help free up resources is to navigate to this folder:

C:\WINDOWS\prefetch <– folder

Then, delete all the files in that folder.

DO NOT DELETE THE FOLDER!!

Just delete all the files in the folder.

See if that doesn't speed things up a bit.

The system seems okay to me, but I'll check with the user tomorrow. Thanks SO much!!! I have another system that I just want to make sure is okay. It's behaving, but it didn't have antivirus running for a while. It's running now, and I did a full scan of the system. I then ran ewido in safe mode and then ran Hijackthis in regular mode.
