I'm most interested in these files.

Please navigate to them using windows explorer, and put your cursor on them.

Post the information that pops up in the "bubble" (Company, description, date created, size)
Does the phrase "needle in a haystack" mean anything to you?

Let's try this.

Start windows explorer.

At the top click Search

In the A word or phrase in the file box, type:

AUNPS2.dll

Click the More advanced options down arrow.

Check these:

Search system folders
Search hidden files and folders
Search subfolders

UN-Check these:

Case sensitive
Search tape backup

Then click the Search button (at the bottom next to the Back button)

Post back anything that shows up in the search (I'll need both the data from the Name and In folder columns).

I'm just trying to figure out what file is trying to load that DLL.
:)
Are you sure you put AUNPS2.dll in the A word or phrase in the file box?

I'm not looking for AUNPS2.dll, I'm trying to find OTHER file(s) that contain that name within them.

Please post a new Hijack This! log (for good measure).
:)
Yes I am sure, plus I did it twice…

Nothing "wrong" in there. I'm going to have to ask some of my "cohorts" here what we should use to try to find whatever it is that is trying to load that file. Since the registry search came up empty, I'm at a loss what we should be looking "for", or "with". Keep an eye on your email, and I will post again when "I get a clue"…
Could this has something to do with Spy Sweeper and its shield feature to protect host file, startup entries. Could it be hidding this entry somewhere else? I removed Spy Sweeper last night thinking it would help but not success…
Open Hijackthis.

Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.

Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.

Click the "Save list…" Button.

Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your next reply.

Do the registry search again, but just search for AUNP, and post what you find.

Also search for AUNP (Word or phrase in a file) using windows explorer once more and post anything found.
:)
And we need to be sure these Hijack This! logs are done while booted in "normal" mode, and NOT "safe" mode…. It will make a difference.
:)
