ocassionally I get this window that pops up. I think its odd that its command is like this. Never seen this before? Very Strange:attempt to disowned by driver after WIN32 Checks out. Disown attempt ignored COM3.

hi,

if i remember i think dial up modems (56k) use com ports. you use a dial up connection by any chance.

No I have broadband. I thought the part where it stated "Very Strange" is umm very strange. :D
I just received this error as well, and being suspicious of any warning spelled that badly, I had to find the cause. What I have found that it is actually generated by VspStartup.exe, which is "Virtio Serial Port", an application installed for me by DeLorme (it's a virtual serial port driver for using usb devices on virtual serial ports). Should be harmless. Hope this helps. Kris

Cool, I have delorme atlas 2005. That must be the serial emulator for the gps device. Thanks for the help.
I am getting exactly the same message ocassionally. I think it may be from a Delorme utility which distributes USB GPS info to com ports. Are you also running that software?

Thanks.
