For the last week I have been getting a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in my system tray. When I click on it it tells me that I have spyware on my computer and when I answer yes it transfers me to a web site for Antivirus Gold and other spy ware providers. I have run Avast antivirus, Spybot, and Adaware SE, and everything is ok. I have Hijackthis on my computer and below is the log: Thanks Mike

Please download
smitRem.zip

Save it to your desktop.
Right click on the file and extract it to its own folder on the desktop.

Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen. Your desktop and icons will disappear and then reappear again — this is normal.
Wait for the tool to complete.

You need an updated version of Hijackthis which you can get from HERE.
I ran the program SmitRem and it didn’t remove it, I ran the program again in safe mode and it removed it. It also changed my display settings, I just changed them back to what they were. Thanks a lot . Mike PS I also have 2 files in my C: drive that look suspicious, they are ied_s7.cab and eied_s7.cab Should these files be removed? My new Hijackthis log is posted below it is version 1.99.1

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Save the logfile from the scan.

Restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.

Here are my Ewido and Hijackthis logs
