sorry for delay, lots and lots of posters.
first thing look in add/remove programs panel and uninstall NewDotNet or Newnet

next, scan with HJT, put a checkmark beside the items below, close all windows and click fix checked.

next boot computer intop SAFE MODE by tapping the F8 key at restart, chose safe mode form the options. may take several minutes to get to desk top. once in safe mode:

find and delete the two 04 items above it looks like the first one is in

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\
delete entire Surflesssignonce folder

second one is in
C:\Documents and Settings\owner\Application Data\ looks like a folder that begins with Tonsen…
delete entire folder

Click Start>Run then type %temp%
Hit OK. Delete all the files you can.

click Start>Run then type %windir%\temp
hit ok. delete all the files you can

Empty your Temp folders. Go to Start > Run and type:cleanmgr. Windows will scan. When done check these 3 and press *ok* to remove:

Temporary Files
Temporary Internet Files
Recycle Bin

Can not boot up in safe mode. Computer keeps looping back to options page for boot up. Pressed F8 at startup, selected safe mode, looped back to opt.

Could not boot to safe mode. Changed the boot ini file to boot to safe mode, BIG MISTAKE got stuck in loop of restarting and going to options page for startup. Spent hours trying to fix. Got hold of OEM and did reinstall/repair to get back into system. Was told by them that I probley needed to save everything that I wanted and do a Fdisk and reload windows, because system may be unstable. I am online now but when I shut down and restart I don't know if I will be able to get back into windows. Was not able to delet files and did not try to delet from windows. Afraid to try to boot to safe mode now. If not able to get back online thanks for your help. Here is the latest log.

hi Onegun,

well i have good news, those two 04 items dont show up in the latest log. did you delete them? hjt can delete some items. i wanted you to boot to safe mode as some things are easier to get rid of in safe mode. can you look to make sure the 04 items are gone, with windows running normally (no safe mode)

Hi; Shelf Life

Did get enough nerve to try to boot in safe mode after all the trouble I had. Was able to delete the items you told me to plus a few others that I new I did not want. I think that by doing the reinstall of XP helped by taking me back to SP1. As you can tell by the HJT log. After everything is resolved I will update to SP2.

hi shelf life

Thanks for your help, just a question or two. There are a couple of items that are showing in the HJT log that are bugging me. If I delet them from the log, do I need to do anything else. They are as follows.

O10 - Broken Internet access because of LSP provider 'c:\program files\newdotnet\newdotnet6_38.dll' missing
O16 - DPF: {2B96D5CC-C5B5-49A5-A69D-CC0A30F9028C} (MiniBugTransporterX Class) - http://wdownload.weatherbug.com/minibug/tr…Transporter.cab?

I do not have these any more.

remove the 016 if you no longer use weatherbug. run hjt and have it fix these:

Please follow a few tips to remain malware free:

Make sure you keep your Windows OS current by visiting Windows update
occasionaly to download and install any critical updates and service packs. With out these you are leaving the backdoor open.

Also download, install and keep updated- Antivirus Software (and use only one):

Many exploits are directed at Internet Explorer, you dont have to use it. Try a different browser.
Like Firefox,

Outlook Express with the default settings is not secure. It will run scripts, download images etc, just like a browser.

Install a firewall. A firewall will control what comes in from the internet and what leaves your computer to the internet. A firewall will also alert you when a application trys to connect to the internet from your computer, this is a good way to catch crapware or trojans, trying to connect out bound from your computer- whats that and why does it need a internet connection? You can deny it access it until more investigation is done. Zone Alarm is a free and easy to use firewall, that will provide in and outbound protection. Microsoft XP firewall only provides inbound protection. SP2 adds in and out bound protection which is better than nothing, but is not as robust as third party firewalls, Be sure to run only >one< firewall.If you use another, be sure to disable XP's built in firewall. A inexpensive NAT hardware router with SPI (firewall)would be even better,along with a software firewall.

Watch what you download, and where you download it from. Many many programs come bundled with "extra" crapware you may not want. Make sure you know what it is you will be downloading and installing. Visit the makers website, learn more about the program, Does the program you want come bundled with other "3rd party" programs? What do the 3rd party programs do? Will they deliver ads? Track your surfing habits?.You may be installing more than you think, Read the EULA agreement, you know that paragraph of stuff you "agree to" before the software installs? Stay away from warez and crack sites. Becarful what you download from file sharing networks.If you are not sure, scan it with your Antivirus app. A small file (in KB) is probably not what you think it is. If you search hard enough you can usually find a "clean" alternative to any software.
