History:
Installed Norton Internet Security 5.0 on 7/5 went fine. System virus scan was clean.
Am running the MS antivirus tool in active mode, Spy bot active options, and norton.
Everything was fine till 7/9 when I had to review some game sites. Norton, the MS antivirus started going off every minute or so. Shut down apps and ran Norton anti virus, cleaned 37 viruses. Ran SpyBot Search and destroy, Ad-Ware personal, and an MS anitvirus full scan. All found several to many items.

The following have persisted and I can not get rid of them.

Trying to connect to DNS server - Norton Internet Security
aurareco.exe
thnallac.exe IP 209.206.160.254:53
nvzosbdbe.exe
pi_60.exe

Startup program requires approval - Window AntiSpyware Notice
golwjs.exe
kzhyqhs.exe
rygizmb.exe

A HJT log follows and thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Click here to download ewido security suite - it is a trial version of the program.
  • Install ewido security suite
  • When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
  • Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop double-click it.
  • The program will now go to the main screen
You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
  • On the left hand side of the main screen click update
  • Then click on Start Update
The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed. If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update ewido. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Click here to download Nailfix. Unzip it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.

When you have both applicactions, reboot into Safe Mode by tapping F8 after the BIOS has loaded. Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on Nailfix.cmd. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly - this is normal.

Next open ewido security suite:
  • Click on scanner
  • Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin (do not open any folders or open the windows control panel while the scan is in progress).
  • While the scan is in progress you will be prompted to clean files, click OK
  • When it asks if you want to clean the first file, put a check in the lower left corner of the box that says "Perform action on all infections" then choose clean and click OK.
  • Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save report.
  • Save the report .txt file to your desktop.
Now close ewido security suite and restart your computer in Normal Mode.

Make sure that you have no browser windows open as this could prevent the fix from working properly. Open HijackThis, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

Reboot again when done, rescan with HJT and post a new log here together with the ewido report you saved.
Thanks for your quick response. Unforunately my PC went belly up the day after I got this. I was away a couple of days and checked my mail when I got back and found your response. I also ran RegSupreme to clean up a minor problem. The PC was runining fine. Next morning it was not usable. It was running at 100% all the time. I didn't t think to shut down the LAN connection which might have helped. I was advised to rebuild the PC so I could get back to work and did. JohnO
Glad you got it fixed :)

To help keep you clean follow the recommendations in Tony's article here:

So how did I get infected in the first place?
