Wondering what this means. Every time I start my computer before it gets to the Windows screen it says:
Please wait while Setup configures your system. And then the Windows start screen says down at the very bottom, Getting ready to run Windows for the first time. Does anyone know why this is happening or what it means?
Restart your computer. Press and hold the CTRL key until the Windows 98 or Windows Me Startup menu appears, and then choose Safe Mode Command Prompt Only from the Startup menu.
Type the following lines, pressing ENTER after each line:
attrib -s -h -r logo.sys (press Enter)
Note: there is a space in between "attrib" and "-s". A space between "-s" and "-h". A space between "-h" and "-r". And a space between "-r" and "logo.sys"
ren logo.sys logo.old (press Enter)
Note: there is a space between "ren" and "logo.sys". And a space between "logo.sys" and "logo.old".
Reboot Windows normally. That should take care of that problem… hopefully
Once again you are amazing!! Problem solved! I was really getting annoyed at those messages because I knew it wasnt normal for that to be happening. Any idea what caused it to start doing that in the first place??
A million thanks again
