Do you know how to fix the missing users problems when logging in? Admin isn't even an option in Normal Mode.

It's not suppose to be. You should create a password for the administrator account. Just make SURE you'll remember it.

Also, could any of the things we've done here fix my problems with my cable modem needing to be reset so often?

I've had the same problem with my cable ISP. They finally came out and replaced it.
