Whenever I search for anything on google (using IE or Firefox), the first page of results is all links to shoping sites etc. For example, a search for "arbor green" results in a page of results like this:

arbor%2bgreen: Find more information here
Need more information on arbor%2bgreen, sit back and let us find it! We pull from the some of the biggest search engines on the internet, so you don't have to!
ezanga.com - 21k - Cached - Similar pages

The following pages are real google results.

I have scanned with spybot, adaware, MS antispyware, etc. with no success.

Any help/ideas appreciated.

Hello volklaxe, Welcome to TomCoyote. You are hijacked by Nonstopsearch.com Hijacker / AdWare.Searcher.b and instuctions for removing it will follow. But first I would be doing you a disservice if I did not point out to you that you have neither SP1 or any critical updates for your IE browser. With the malware that is out here now it is no longer a question of IF you will get infected but WHEN. I strongly suggest you visit Windows Updates now and download all critical updates suggested for your computer. I DO NOT suggest you download SP2 while you are infected.

1) I see McAffee and AVG both in your log. It looks like you are running only the McAfee firewall. If I am wrong and you are running both antivirus programs, you need to uninstall one of them. Your protection will be worse with two running because of conflicts.

2) A couple of things first, the tool will remove this hijacker, do not attempt to use HJT to do this. Here is what it looks like in your log.
O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\fltmgr.dll
O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\fltmgr.dll
O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\fltmgr.dll

I want to say I do not believe Microsoft AntiSpyware will stop the fix but it may. If it does use these instructions to turn it off:
Open Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Click on Tools, Settings.
In the left pane, click on Real-time Protection.
Under Startup Options uncheck: Enable the Microsoft AntiSpyware Security Agents on startup (recommended).
Under Real-time spyware threat protection uncheck: Enable real-time spyware threat protection (recommended).
After you uncheck these, click on the Save button and close Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Right click on the Microsoft AntiSpyware icon on the taskbar and select Shutdown Microsoft AntiSpyware.

After all of the fixes are complete it is very important that you enable Real-time Protection again.

3) Use this information and the tutorial to remove the hijacker:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/lspfix.php
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/ind…showtutorial=59
This is the .dll you will be removing: fltmgr.dll

4) Your version of HJT.exe is outdated, please update from within the software like this: Open HJT > Open the Misc Tools section > Scroll to Check for update online > Follow instructions. If you have any issues you can download the new version here: http://www.malwareremoval.com/downloads.html

5) After you have visited Microsoft Updates and removed this hijacker, then staying in this same thread post a new log using v1.99.1 and I will see what is left to do.

Thanks…pskelley

Thanks! that seemed to clear up the search issue… I now get normal results.
(and yes, I will update XP as you suggest)

Well ok, the hijacker is gone. :) When you finish with the critical updates, then please post a new log. Please DO NOT doublespace the log like you did in your second post. Look at your first log and post it like that. Do not use word wrap. The best way it to open HJT and click on "Do a system scan and save a logfile". Then wait until HJT creates the logfile within a notepad for you. Than copy/paste the information (Edit/Select All) to this thread.

Thanks…pskelley
Your last log still had some adware in it that needed removal, and you have not responded to my request for a new log not doublespaced. It has been over ten days since this request was made. I will close this thread in 24 hours. Here is some information that along with updating your windows criticals may keep you from getting reinfected: Here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:
