Hello gthornton, Welcome back to TomCoyote. In October your HijackThis was properly place on the C:\. Now you are running it from a .zip file in a temporary directory. Please fix that first, if we need the backups in an emergency, they will not be there for us. Here are instructions if you need them:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial94.html Once that is fixed, then follow these directions:

1) Concerning this program: C:\Program Files\Ares Lite Edition\Ares.exe I will give you three links to review, of which there are many and I will say no more.
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/05/03/…ain692765.shtml
http://www.depts.ttu.edu/helpcentral/safec…/secure/p2p.php
http://www.mainstream.net/security_howto/d…e_sharing.shtml

2) Microsoft AntiSpyware will stop out HJT fix, use these instructions to turn it off until you are finished with HJT.
To disable the program, follow the instructions below:
a.) Right click on the Microsoft Antispyware tray icon (a little red and yellow circle looking thing)
b.) Click on Security Agents Status (Enabled)
c.) Click on Disable Real-time Protection.

3) Download CCleaner from this link: http://www.ccleaner.com/ Take the time to review the instructions on the download page so that when I ask you to run it you will know what you are doing.

4) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…/search/ie.html
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…//www.yahoo.com
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…/search/ie.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…//www.yahoo.com
O2 - BHO: SDWin32 Class - {1FFC63F0-ADBB-49E9-BE17-20823FA09F95} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\rhokq.dll
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {2CDE1A7D-A478-4291-BF31-E1B4C16F92EB} - (no file)

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

(would be a good idea to run this as the BHO was probably installed by a trojan)
Let's check for trojans in case any are hiding, run this free online scan, scan the whole system and set it to clean or fix anything it locates. Let me know what it finds and the exact name and location of anything it locates but can't remove. You may be asked to install an ActiveX, please do so as this program is safe and it can not run without it.
http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/

Run CCleaner then restart the computer and post a new log in this same thread along with any feedback you have. Let us know how you are running.

Thanks…pskelley
