Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!

Wow… not sure why this is being so stubborn…. Try logging on as the Admin and going through the steps for L2M again in Safe Mode…. no need to post the first log. Just do the second step right after the first. Post the second log along with a new HijackThis log after you have rebooted normally. Thanks!

OK…. Gonna try something different…
  • Download AppInit_DLLs Fix.
  • Unzip the contents of appinitfix.zip to a convenient location.
  • Double-click on appinitfix.reg.
  • When it asks you to merge the information to the registry click "Yes".
Run CWShredder. Press the Fix button. Exit when done.

Run and scan with HijackThis. With all other browsers and Windows closed, place a check beside the following and fix:

Boot into Safe Mode. Search for and delete 7xxlkdmiw3xx.dll.

Browse to your C:\Windows\Prefetch folder. Delete all the files in the folder, do not delete the folder itself. Empty your Recycle Bin. Run CCleaner.

Reboot Windows normally and post a new HijackThis log please.

Hey, I am just about to fix the HJT stuff (have not yet gone into safe mode) but O20 - AppInit_DLLs: 7xxlkdmiw3xx.dll is no longer present. It has been replaced by: O20 - AppInit_DLLs: jbel7fob7omcj.dll. What do i do?

I couldnt find the file. Is there a proper way to search (other than using the search option from the start menu)?

Download KillBox.

Boot into Safe Mode.

Run and scan with HijackThis. With all other browsers and windows closed, place a check beside the following and fix:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {467FAEB2-5F5B-4c81-BAE0-2A4752CA7F4E} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\W8C6S4~1.DLL (file missing)
O20 - AppInit_DLLs: 7h9yelkdsxi7.dll

Open up Killbox. In the 'Paste Full Path of File to Delete' box, copy and paste this entry:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\7h9yelkdsxi7.dll.

If that dll name has changed… replace it with the dll name in the 020 line, so when you do your fix with HijackThis, make sure you take note of what the dll name is in the 020 line.

Reboot Windows normally an dpost a new HijackThis log please.
