i've recently switch from windows me to windows xp and i'd noticed that there's no more scandisk. so, are there any other ways to scan my system for any errors?
There sure is a way.

Do this:
  • Open my computer
  • Right click on the drive in question
  • select properties from the menu
  • select the tools tab
  • select auto fix and bad sector scan if you need/desire
Note: If this is a drive that has windows system files, it will ask you if you wish to run the scan at reboot. Select yes and reboot.

Hope this helps!

Hi!

Or alternatively, open a command prompt:
( Start - Run - CMD )
In there type:
chkdsk /F
eg chkdsk c: /F

Usually you will then have to reboot (at your convenience) before the check can take place as the drive cannot otherwise be locked for exclusive access to enable it to be scanned safely.

Best wishes,

Andrew
