FYI, I'm PC savvy but new to adware and spyware. Am helping to fix a friends computer. I'm also new to this type of forum.

I ran Ad Aware SE, Spybot Search & Destroy, Webroot Spy Sweeper, Syp Subtract and tried to do MS Antispyware, but it never completed (stop responding).

After all that and still having problems … here I am. Below is my Hijack This log.

I seem to have several problems. I know of the Elite Toolbar problem (can't get rid of it!) I also have problems with IE going to some odd home page (even though it's set to blank.) Also, I get nasty pop-ups. Any help would be appreciated!

No. I'm sorry, but I'm not allowed to kill that infection. Will mention it somewhere, maybe someone else who is allowed to take care of that infection will post… :)

Hans, Thank you anyway. Can you at least tell me what infection I have. I'm nearing desperation and am thinking of just reformatting, resinstalling and starting over.

You have the following infections on your system. - CoolWebSearch - Narrator / Qoologic - EliteToolbar - Nail.exe (no name for it yet) but it is really hard to remove. - Some other worms, trojans and spyware. I asked some people if they could take over your topic. I should wait until tomorrow. If you haven't received any response at that moment, I should reformat and start over… I don't usually say it, but if you have nothing to loose (important data) then, in this case, it could be better to reformat… :)
