The past few days I've ran across several PC's that were infected in a way that made me scratch my head. I managed to rid them of the bugs but one XP machine I had to use the restore CD on. All of them had about the same symptoms... Ctrl alt delete would not work, task manager would not load, reg would not load, hjt would not run (except in Smode),spybot would not run,virus software would not run, firewall would not run, A Smode cure using hjt as a map helped pin point the offending files but it was like the gates of hell had opened.... All systems were hijacked and being used for internet purposes of some type. Using uptodate detection and virus software of all type in Smode was not useful. If anyone sees this as familiar and knows a quick kill or detect please let me know.
