Thanks in advance for your help.
I have just completed a SpyBot SD, ScanAware and RegCleaner scans.

I see some listings in my log from people I no longer do business with - like Comcast and Napster, so I assume those can go, right?

Thanks again.
Mike.

Hello gardphoto, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. If you still need help, let's look at this. The first two items on the list, myceman.exe and msrosoft.exe do not identify with our search engines, as such they are called random named trojans. If you do not know what they are I suggest removal, the third AWS is know adware and will be removed also unless you like that stuff.
I am also removing anything Napster or Comcast I see as per your request. I am removing bad ActiveX and anything Google says is questionable. If we remove something in that area that you use, you will be prompted to reinstall the .cab file the next time you visit the site. Last but not least, TeaTimer which is a great program will stop the HJT changes that must be made. You will need to turn it off until you complete those changes. Thanks.

Download CCleaner here: http://www.ccleaner.com/ read the information on the homepage so you will know how to use it, I will tell you when to do so.

Use Add Remove Programs to uninstall AWS
Use Task Manager to end process on the first two items.

C:\WINNT\system32\myceman.exe
C:\WINNT\system32\msrosoft.exe
C:\PROGRA~1\AWS\WEATHE~1\Weather.exe

Open HJT and Do a system scan only then check the box for these line items:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://cgi.verizon.net/bookmarks/bmredir.a….0&bm=ho_search
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

O16 - DPF: {CAFEEFAC-0014-0001-0003-ABCDEFFEDCBA} (Java Runtime Environment 1.4.1_03) -

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows then click on "Fix Checked"

SHOW HIDDEN FILES: Follow the instructions in the follow link to enable hidden files for your operating system.
You may wish to reverse this process if you have any concern about anyone getting into these hidden system files.
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

RIGHT click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these files and folders:

C:\WINNT\system32\myceman.exe >>> File

C:\WINNT\system32\msrosoft.exe >>> file

C:\PROGRAM FILES~1\AWS\ >>> folder

Run CCleaner, then restart the computer and post a new log staying in this same thread. Please include any comments you think I should have.

Thanks…pskelley
