My browser seems different in appearance, computer slows to a crawl yet cpu usage seems ok, Xsoft says that there is a trojan present in my registry but norton misses it. (Trojan win32.FTP in software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run\reminder).
Can u help please?

(thanking you in advance)

Hi Mike, Welcome back to TomCoyote forum. I do not see anything in your log indicating a problem. There is lots of information online if you search for the trojan you posted: Trojan win32.FTP. See if this information gets rid of it:
http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/pest/pe…px?id=453059899
I am also concerned that Symantec did not detect and remove the trojan, it could be that it has compromised your av software and you should check with them to see if you should reinstall it after you are clean.

Here is also a free online scan if you wish to try that:
http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/

And a free trial version of:
http://www.misec.net/trojanhunter/

Once you are showing clean you should purge system restore:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgen…src=sec_doc_nam

And let me look at a new log, please update to 1.99.1 first:
Open HJT > Open the Misc Tools section > Scroll to Check for update online > Follow instructions.

Hope this helps
Thanks…pskelley

Thanks again for your help.
Hi Mike, It looks to me like you cut your log off. It stops in the 08 items. Please do this, Open HJT and click on "Do a system scan and save a logfile", wait until the logfile is saved to notepad. Then click on Edit at the top and then Select All. Copy and paste the complete highlited text into this thread. Please do not use the quote function. Thanks.

Here is a tutorial if you need it. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial94.html

Thanks…pskelley

OK Mike, Thanks for the new log. You are clean of malware. Here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:

You have a lot of stuff running at Startup that you may not need if you wish a little more speed at bootup and to save a few resources. These links will help your identify these items:
http://www.answersthatwork.com/Tasklist_pages/tasklist.htm
http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_index.htm
http://computercops.biz/StartupList.html
http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/

I will also suggest that you uninstall the tools we downloaded, like in the case of TrojanHunter the trial period will render it useless and you have a couple of DPF's

You may no longer need and you can get them again if you ever do. The 016's can be removed with HJT, the other program will need to be uninstalled in Add Remove programs.

Good luck and safe surfing
Thanks…pskelley
