Hi heres my HJT, I believe I have mhtml.redir.exploit issue because whenever I try to save my logfile Norotns comes up and says It just removed mhtml.redir.exploit. This happens everytime I try to save my logfile.

Can I get Nortons to ignore this thing?

Also I just downloaded HJT

Can u check if I still have the Dr Watson Postmortem Debugger issue as that was the reason I downloaded HJT.

Hello tgcrosle and welcome to TomCoyote. :wavey:

I've removed your other thread as it was a duplicate of this one.

Step 1
Open Task Manager (ctrl+alt+delete) and end process on TeaTimer.exe.
This is not bad but will prevent the fix from working.

Step 2
Open HijackThis, run a scan, then check the following:

O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present << Fix this only if you or an administrator did not place this restriction.

O9 - Extra button: Research - {92780B25-18CC-41C8-B9BE-3C9C571A8263} - C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~2\OFFICE11\REFIEBAR.DLL

O16 - DPF: {10000000-1000-0000-1000-000000000000} - ms-its:mhtml:file://C:\foo.mht!http://www.free32.com/POP.CHM::/sp.exe

With all other programs and browsers closed, click fix checked.

Step 3
Reboot normally and scan with HijackThis. Post the new log as a reply to this thread.
Please let us know of any complications you had and how the computer is behaving.
Hello Alsocom, First sorry for reposting this thread Im new to Forums and I thought mine was lost in the haystack already.

Thank you for helping me with HJT heres the new log. I will see if Nortons autoprotect will keep stopping me from saving my logfile and let you know. Also
do you think I got rid of the Dr Watson Postmortem Debugger virus? My symptoms have completely stopped but does this show its gone?

Your new log is clean.:)

The 016 item was the cause of the problem with Norton Antivirus deleting the log.

Now that everything is fixed, I suggest that you get these programs to help keep the computer clean:

Spyware Blaster - Blocks bad ActiveX items from installing on your computer.
SpywareGuard - Real-time protection from spyware installation attempts
ie-spyad - Puts over 8,000 bad URLs into your restricted sites for Internet Explorer.
Google Toolbar - Blocks many unwanted pop-ups in Internet Explorer.
Firefox - Safer alternative to the Internet Explorer web browser.

ZoneAlarm - Free firewall program if you currently are not using one.

Update these regularly.

You may also want to read "How did I get infected in the first place" to learn how to better secure your computer.

Be sure to keep Windows and your Anti-virus updated.
:P Thanks so much Alan, I actually have most of the suggestions you offered me including mozilla now, but the whole reason I got HJT and the source of my problems this week is when I went on to Javacools website with firefox and downloaded and ran spyware gaurd, my comp crashed with the Dr Watson Postmortem Debugger error. What does that mean? Did spyware gaurd give me that horrible virus? Did I even get the virus or just the crash? Have you heard anything about this issue?
You can go here and read about Dr. Watson. It is not a bad item on your computer.

On my own computer, I can not use SpywareGuard with Norton Antivirus as they have a conflict and neither program works properly. You may want to enable TeaTimer in SpyBot S&D instead. It alerts you to any registry changes being made and allows you to allow/block them.

Open Spybot S&D, click Mode then Advanced Mode. Now click tools from the left column then click resident. Place a check in both boxes and exit the program. This will place an icon in your system tray. You can right click this to change how TeaTimer alerts you.
Thanks for all your help, HJT works perfect as does the rest of my computer. I now have Spybot w/ teatimer, adaware, spywareblaster, cwshredder, NAV, and Hjt. Hope this will protect me! :wavey:
