This is the first time I've used HijackThis–and this forum. I found out about it after I couldn't get rid of some spyware that Ad-Aware found. So, below I have included the log files from Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware, in addition to the HijackThis log. If including all of these log files isn't necessary in the future, please let me know.

By the way, I use Mozilla Firefox, so I don't know why there are IE Explorer entries. Then again, I don't know much about how spyware really works :P

Thanks, in advance, for your help :)

Hello McKev25, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. I can tell you that we will not need any log but HJT unless we ask for it. I can also say that I see no malware in your log. Both Ad-aware and Spybot reported cookies that you should have remove at that point and the DSO Exploits are a glitch in Spybot that is supposted to be repaired soon. A Beta version has been released so keep an eye open for the update. Now, looking at the HJT log, I can tell you have a Dell (Me two) except I removed all of the Dell junk I did not need long ago. I will make suggestions for removals, and you can decide rather to do this or not. Up to you. If you are unsure how to set the homepage you prefer, just let me know.
I suggest you do this, You must turn TeaTimer off if you wish to do this.

Scan with HJT and check the box in front of these lines:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://www.dell4me.com/mywaybiz
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://bfc.myway.com/search/de_srchlft.html
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.dell4me.com/mywaybiz
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://www.dell4me.com/mywaybiz
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.dell4me.com/mywaybiz
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Connection Wizard,ShellNext = http://www.dell4me.com/mywaybiz
R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {4D25F926-B9FE-4682-BF72-8AB8210D6D75} - C:\Program Files\MyWaySA\SrchAsDe\1.bin\deSrcAs.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {4D25F921-B9FE-4682-BF72-8AB8210D6D75} - C:\Program Files\MyWaySA\SrchAsDe\1.bin\deSrcAs.dll

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows then click on "Fix Checked".

Empty the recycle bin and restart the computer. Post a new log along with your comments if you wish.

Since you are clean, here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:

Here are programs I suggest, you have the first two but the tutorials will help you learn what to delete and how.
StayClean: I suggest the following free software, links contain the tutorial and download site:

pskelley- Thanks so much for the reply. You all are doing a great service for people. I've done a fair amount of reading on spyware, but I tend to shy away from making any adjustments to my registry. That's part of the reason why I posted my logs…because I saw the DSO exploits. I'm glad to hear they are a Spybot glitch, and not an actual invasion. The other reason I posted–and I forgot to mention this in my first post–is that I haven't been able to get rid of the 2 cookies that Ad-Aware detected. I know that they are low risk, but I obviously still don't want them there. Any idea how to get rid of them if Ad-Aware can't do it? Thanks again for the help, and I will definately follow the links you provided.
Hey again McKev25, I would like to see a new log :( . Here is a link to the Spybot glitch: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/faq/36.html Check for updates often. I do not suggest Beta products unless you feel you are experienced enough to deal with the issues that can come up, but we are all looking forward to the newest version being released from Beta.

Any idea how to get rid of them if Ad-Aware can't do it?

First I would kill that Avenue A cookie Spybot is finding, the Ad-aware cookies: C:\Documents and Settings\KJM\Cookies\kjm@2o7[1].txt and C:\Documents and Settings\KJM\Cookies\kjm@atdmt[2].txt
are just .txt files and should remove easily with Ad-aware using the instructions in the tutorial I provided. I could suggest Killbox, but that is a bit of overkill for a cookie…lol, if you feel you have followed the instructions for removal and it is still there, try to delete them in the Docs and Settings folder. If you are told the file is being used, try using HJT. Open HJT, choose "Open the Misc Tools section". You will see a "Delete a file on reboot button", click it and follow the instructions. Be careful to choose the correct file!!

A last option would be to go here: http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/ join free, find the correct forum for your question and ask the Ad-aware pros for help.

I would still like to see a final log, but here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:

If you are reading this information…thank a teacher, If you are reading it in English…thank a soldier.
I realize that the cookies Ad-Aware is finding is baby stuff. I'm just curious why they keep reappearing, even after I clear my cache in Firefox, and delete the files through Ad-Aware, and delete them myself by going to the folder. Enough about those, though, because it does sound a little silly.

As for the Dell entries: Is there any reason to get rid of them, other than to clean-up a little clutter? I never use Internet Explorer, so is that all the more reason to get rid of the Dell entries?
