The reason I'm doing this is because I have been getting the files Avenue A. Inc, HitBox, and Media Plex everytime I run my spyware.
Just a quick update. My computer has now slowed almost to a stop. When starting it up, I get these errors:

"Csrss has caused an error in kernal 32.dll"

"Cannot import c:\windows\temp.\kill.reg: The specified file is not a registry script" .

I also did the ctrl alt delete thing and there are about 20 or more listings for these 2:

Ping and Winoldap

It also has a new spyware that is called BFast

Thanks for any help,
Tony
Hello Tony, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. If you still need help, then follow these directions. First, you do have a nasty infection, I am concerned that your Norton antivirus did not stop or identify and delete this item? Please take the time to review the information in the links below, carefully read the Symantec information. I will attempt to remove this trojan but the information is very inportant, see this:
Trojan.Webus is a Trojan horse program that kills antivirus services and launches Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks against a list of remote servers. Once you are clean you will have to download your Antivirus software again as what you have on the computer has been compromised. I would contact Norton for instructions making sure they know what the item was. Other items may need to be reinstalled, the information in the link will explain this to you.
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\DDEFMXX\CSRSS.EXE
http://castlecops.com/startuplist-786.html
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcen…ojan.webus.html

Open HijackThis and click on "Open the Misc Tools section", then click on "Open process manager", locate this item: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\DDEFMXX\CSRSS.EXE highlite it and click on the "Kill Process" tab bottom left. Then click "Back" then click on the "Scan" tab.
Put a check in the box in front of each of these line items, make sure not to miss any.

O15 - Trusted Zone: http://www.Ebay.com

Close all windows but HJT and all browser windows then click on "Fix Checked"

Follow the instructions in the following link to enable hidden file for your operating system:
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

RIGHT click on Start then click on Explore. locate and delete this folder:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\DDEFMXX\CSRSS.EXE >>> folder

Empty the recycle bin and restart the computer. Stay in this thread and post a new log along with any comments you think I should have.

Once the log is posted, then I want you to run these two free online scans. Make sure they are set to fix or clean and scan the complete system.
http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/
http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/co…n_principal.htm
Make a note of anything they fix and if they can't fix/clean anything I need the exact name and location of that item, post that information when you post next.

I am going to strongly suggest that you need to update your Internet Explorer browser to take advantage of the security fixes with IE 6.0 as you are running an old version 5.5. I also suggest you contact Norton, let them know what you are infected with and that you need to reinstall, get instructions for doing so. Sorry to repeat myself, but if this has compromised your AV, then you have no AV protection.

Thanks…pskelley

I couldn't find the file: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\DDEFMXX\CSRSS.EXE in the HJT system. I did a search on the computer, and it says to enter a vailid file name.

I will start doing the anti-virus stuff now.

Thanks for the help,
Tony
Tony, I get nervous when they seem to go that easy. I see none of the item in the log. Continue with the scans, and let's hope they say "All Clean".

I have also spotted a Downloaded Program File I do not like the looks of. This is one of the 016 items which are ActiveX plugins. I want you to remove this item:
O16 - DPF: {62475759-9E84-458E-A1AB-5D2C442ADFDE} - http://a1540.g.akamai.net/7/1540/52/200312…meInstaller.exe

Use HJT to do this, make sure everything is closed but HJT when you fix the item. I would also like you to look at each 016 item. If you do not recognize the line or if you know you are done with the DPF file, please remove them also along with the one above in red. If you should remove something wrong, the next time you visit the site you will be prompted to install the .cab file again. Once this is done and the scans are run, post a new log. If still clean, I will have some great information to help you stay that way.
Thanks…pskelley

I did the 2 virus scan's, and as soon as we're done here, I update Norton.

Hello Tony, How is your computer running now? The Alexa folks who supply search capabilites to IE, have reinstalled there toolbar with the upgrade, I believe it to be a resource waster so I will remove the related items. Few people know they even have an Alexa toolbar and benefit from the saved resources.
http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/pest/pe…px?id=453073177
More information available via a Google search.
I have not seen this item in the log and I have no reason to believe it is a problem:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\KB891711\KB891711.EXE
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/891711/en-us
http://www.microsoft.com/security/bulletin…01_windows.mspx

As I said, I am not used to seeing this item in logs, but I have to say I rarely get to look at a ME log anymore. All the information indicates it is a GOOD thing as you will see when you review the information. Make sure you look at information for your KB item when reviewing information: 891711.
After you review the Alexa information and agree with me to remove the item, then I want you to operate normally for a day or two, then post a new log along with your comments about performance. Thanks.

Scan with HJT and check these two lines

Hi again. This is Tony Godsey (godsey1) I am in the need for you all to check my HJT log again. I am having a problem that when I run Adaware, it just about gets through then Norton Anti-Virus pop's up that it found and deleted a virus. Adaware never gets to finish. Also, I downloaded the Spyware Doctor from Tom's site, and it found 40 spyware's on my computer. I am debating if I should get rid of Adaware and get this Spyware Doctor program.
                  Thanks for your time,
                                                    Tony

Tony,
Given the age of this topic (over two weeks old) and the nature of your problem, which seem to be new and not related to the fix advice given in this thread, you will be best served by starting a new topic.
Thank you.
