Jocelyn
Hello Jocelyn, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. If you are still waiting for help, please follow these directions.

1) There is a new version of HJT 1.99.1, before you post the next log, update to this new version. This can be done from within the software like this: "Config"=>"Misc Tools"=>"Check for updates online"

2) HJT.exe needs a folder. Return to Docs and Settings RIGHT click on a blank spot and create a NEW FOLDER. Call it HJT, move the HJT.exe and any logs that are there into that folder. It will then look like this:
C:\Documents and Settings\jocelyn\Desktop\HJT\HijackThis.exe

3) Open Task Manager then the Processes Tab, if this item is there end process on it:
Win Server Updt

4) Use the instructions in this link to enable hidden files for your operating system:
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

5) Scan with HijackThis and check the box in front of these line items:

O2 - BHO: PynixObj Class - {00000000-DD60-0064-6EC2-6E0100000000} - C:\WINDOWS\Pynix.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Win Server Updt] C:\WINDOWS\wupdt.exe

IEPlugin adware
O4 - Startup: PowerReg Scheduler V3.exe
O16 - DPF: {1D4DB7D2-6EC9-47A3-BD87-1E41684E07BB} (Fun Web Products Installer Start) - http://imgfarm.com/images/nocache/funwebpr…etup1.0.0.5.cab
-FunWebProducts
O16 - DPF: {41F17733-B041-4099-A042-B518BB6A408C} - http://a1540.g.akamai.net/7/1540/52/200305…meInstaller.exe

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows then click on "Fix Checked".

RIGHT click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete this file:

C:\WINDOWS\wupdt.exe >>> file

Clean Like this: Start, Run type "cleanmgr" without the quotes then ok. Check and remove anything windows locates. Empty the recycle bin and restart the computer. Surf a bit to see how you are running then post the new log with V1.99.1, include any comments you think we should have.

Also is it normal for a virus protection software to recognize hjt as a virus and delete it?

Thanks,

Jocelyn
Hi jocelyn, First I must tell you that there are few miracle fixes, it can take a bit of work to remove this junk. If you remain patient we will do it.

Also is it normal for a virus protection software to recognize hjt as a virus and delete it?

No it is not, when first released McAfee was doing this but that is supposed to have been fixed. You are able to download it, and that is good. This item has added more bad stuff as you can see. If possible, try to stay offline as much as you can until we kill this bugger, and make sure your firewall is blocking all traffic except what you are aware of.

I want you to run these two free online scans and set them to fix or clean anything they locate. Record anything they fix or anything they can't. It is important to know the exact name and location of the items.

http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/
http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/co…n_principal.htm

Do you recognize this item, if so let me know it is safe. I locate this: http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintas…brary/PACKAGER/
C:\windows\system32\packager.exe

I am going to ask you to remove all Downloaded Program Files. (016) If you absolutely know the item, you may pass over it. This stuff often comes in with one of these downloads. These programs will prompt you to reinstall them if you return to the site again.

Then open your Task Manager and under the Processes Tab, end process on this item:

C:\windows\system32\ttyxehke.exe

Scan with HJT and check these items for removal

OK Jocelyn Please make sure you read my instructions carefully and do your best to follow my directions. If there is something you can not do, you need to let me know about it.
I gave you instructions for removing this item in the first log and you still have it showing in this last log, but you have said nothing about having any problems removing it, I need some communication from you.

C:\windows\system32\ttyxehke.exe

This is the infection your have: O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [farmmext] C:\WINDOWS\farmmext.exe Please take the time to open the link and read about it some you will know what it is: http://castlecops.com/startuplist-6810.html and this is the infection: http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/Transponder.html

Open Task Manager (Ctrl, Alt, Delete at the same time) Click on the Processes Tabv. Locate and end process on these two items. This is very important.

C:\windows\system32\ttyxehke.exe

C:\WINDOWS\farmmext.exe

Click on the following link and follow the instructions for enabling hidden files for your Operating System:
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

Open HijackThis and click SCAN, put a check in front of these two lines:

O2 - BHO: DLMaxObj Class - {00000000-59D4-4008-9058-080011001200} - C:\WINDOWS\dlmax.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [farmmext] C:\WINDOWS\farmmext.exe

Clease all programs but HJT and all browser windows then click on "Fix Checked"

RIGHT click on Start then click on Explore. Use the tree to locate and delete these two files.

C:\windows\system32\ttyxehke.exe >>> file

C:\WINDOWS\farmmext.exe >>> file

If you do not know how to do this, you need to find someone who can help.

Empty the recycle bin and restart the computer. Post a new log with any information I should have about the process.

Thanks…pskelley

Ok Jocelyn, The rest of the stuff has show up, please follow these instructions, then post a new log. Thanks.

This one has been tricky, here is a tool we can use to help us. Please read the instructions carefully so you will know what you are doing in the Symantec link here:
http://sarc.com/avcenter/venc/data/adware.ieplugin.html

This is the item: O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Win Server Updt] C:\WINDOWS\wupdt.exe

The tool is in the Symantec link but I will still place it here for you, download it and follow the directions.

Hopefully we will not need the manual removal. Once you have completed these instructions, some of the items I have marked for deletion by HJT may no longer be there. I wish you to complete the instructions anyway to the end just to make sure.

Scan with HJT and check each of these lines:
