Cws And Pop-ups Now Appearing....

I have tried to remove CWS for a long time now to no avail. Now I have pop-ups appearing when I'm not using the internet which is almost as annoying as CWS which hijacks my home page and changes it to about blank. Your help would be greatly appreciated. I have spybot and ad-aware, but they don't really help that much also I have the CWS Shredder which removes it temporalily.

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

Please move HJT into its own folder, suggest:

C:\Documents and Settings\Rob\Desktop\MyHJT\HijackThis.exe

Download and unzip the KillBox to a folder - we'll use it later.

Close ALL programs down and with ONLY HJT running fix these:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = res://C:\DOCUME~1\Rob\LOCALS~1\Temp\se.dll/sp.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = about:blank
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = res://C:\DOCUME~1\Rob\LOCALS~1\Temp\se.dll/sp.html
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = about:blank
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = about:blank
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = about:blank
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,HomeOldSP = about:blank
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,HomeOldSP = about:blank
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5B34C5F6-BFAF-4D40-8BC0-755B950430F3} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\cipbble.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [sp] rundll32 C:\DOCUME~1\Rob\LOCALS~1\Temp\se.dll,DllInstall
O15 - Trusted Zone: *.line6.net Fix only if you didn't put this in your IEs trusted zone.
O18 - Filter: text/html - {23951728-6138-4CE5-9C1B-6AACF403F614} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\cipbble.dll
O18 - Filter: text/plain - {23951728-6138-4CE5-9C1B-6AACF403F614} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\cipbble.dll

Click on Fix Checked and exit HijackThis.

Open up the KillBox and copy and paste this in:

C:\DOCUME~1\Rob\LOCALS~1\Temp\se.dll

You will see the file appear below the window if it exsists, when it does also click the box that says "unregister dll before deleting", then click delete (red X).

Repeat the procedure for this one also:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\cipbble.dll

Clean out temporary and TIF files. Go to Start > Run and type in the box: cleanmgr. Let it scan your system for files to remove. Make sure these 3 are checked and then press *ok* to remove:

Temporary Files
Temporary Internet Files
Recycle Bin

Delete all files in these folders.(if they exist)
C:\documents and settings\(your name)\local settings\temp
C:\documents and settings\(anyone)\local settings\temp
C:\windows\temp
C:\Temp

Empty recycle bin.

Reboot and post a fresh HJT log and lets see how we did, MrC
OK. I did it a few times and it says it cannont remove the se.dll, but I am able to remove the cipbble.dll. I found out it also is in a temp folder and I cannot delete it from the temp folder nor can kill box delete keeps saying cannot delete file and when I try to delete manually from the folder itself it says access denied cannot delete file. So I'm guessing its still in use as a process also the spyware seems to come back after I reboot even though its deleted. When you want want me to close programs down do you want me to close certain programs from the Task Manager maybe that might help??

Reboot into SafeMode

Close all programs down, leaving only HijackThis running.
Place a check against the following items:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [sp] rundll32 C:\DOCUME~1\Rob\LOCALS~1\Temp\se.dll,DllInstall

Click on Fix Checked and exit HijackThis.

Now open up the KillBox and copy and paste this in:

C:\DOCUME~1\Rob\LOCALS~1\Temp\se.dll

Try to delete it, if not…

Choose delete on reboot, see if that works, or choose replace on reboot and use dummy.

Let me know and
Post back a fresh HijackThis log and we'll take another look. MrC
Well I gotta thank you, looks like it worked. I appreciate your help that crap was annoying as all hell. Now I don't have to run CWS shredder anymore :D. Thank you very much. Keep up the good work and if I run into anymore problems I'll post here again. Once again man I cannont thank you enough heh. By the way that line6 is something I installed it is a trusted zone so in case you were wondering its fine, something I use every now and then, for guitar playing.
