Overzealous downloading from kazaa and newsgroups may have lead to this problem. Norton (symantec), BPS spyware, seem to have eradicated much of the hijackers, trojans, ad ware, etc., but still have problems that neither can fix or detect. To my knowledge there seems like 12 nasty cookies, hotsearchbar, and isearchbar left. Thank you for your possible help, and I hope I posted this correctly. Sincerely, Gregory in snowy wisconsin!

Hello obelisk_1, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. If you still need help, I will see what I can do. I am glad not to see Kazaa or other P2P junk in the log, here is a link to the bad and good (yes there are some safe ones):
http://www.spywareinfo.com/articles/p2p/ and you still need to be careful. Here is a little information about this piece of junk.

This is a new one on me and not much information is available, would you just validate it is a good program:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [CleanRam] C:\Program Files\Clean Ram\cleanram.exe

Open your Task Manager then the Processes Tab, if any of these items are there highlite and end process:
kill.exe
Desktop Search Removal Tool
Bonus Sites Removal Tool
iSearch Toolbar Removal Tool

RIGHT click on Start then click on Explore, locate and delete this folder:

C:\WINDOWS\inst\kill.exe >>> please make sure the folder applies to the kill.exe file, if so delete the folder

Clean Like this: Start, Run type "cleanmgr" without the quotes then ok. Check and remove anything windows locates.

Thank you for this information. I will be working on it tonight. The articles are very informative, and thank you for the links. I will post another hjt log soon. Sincerely, Gregory
Thank you!!! PSKelley– I believe the problems are solved. Can you please give a once over of this new log? I was unable to find what cleanram.exe is, but I think it might be part of System Shield. I couldn't find it through "search," nor manually.

Your instructions were clear and exact. This forum has my donation. Thank you again, sincerely Gregory Anderson LESSON LEARNED

OK Gregory, Taking a look. I searched more for this item:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [CleanRam] C:\Program Files\Clean Ram\cleanram.exe. Please note the .exe and the bracketed name are both spelled with no space. I located it when I searched for the name with a space. I included a couple of links for you to look at. If you have any questions about it after that, let me know and remove it we will.

Your log looks good, no malware left. You do have a few items that are questionable resource users. Time constraints prevent me from posting all of that information, but I will give you links if you want to research what is running on your computer. Just remember, if you are not 100% sure about an item, leave it alone.
