Hi all,
Below is my Hijackthis log. There are a few programs running upon boot-up which I cannot stop. I've tried removing them using regedit. I don't know what they are but pretty sure I do not need them.

Please help me rid my pc of the following (or identify them for me):
ptsnoop.exe
pctptt.exe

Are there other problems here?

Hi Greg, Welcome to TomCoyote forum, If you are still looking for help, I will see what I can do. I can tell you my backup is a Compaq Presario 7360 and I rarely boot it anymore. I am slowly getting everything Compaq off of it that I do not need to run it.
There is nothing wrong with these two items, as the information in the pctptt.exe link states, once you have set up the computer and established the country it is no longer needed. I use msconfig to turn off the stuff I don't want running. The other one has to do with the PTel modem, be careful, I understand it takes a registry edit, and you do not want to make a mistake and loose your modem.

09 items are Alexa toolbar related, most people don't know they have one in IE. I remove them because of that and they are resource wasters. I also suggest you remove those two DPF lines. These are all your options. There is no malware in this log.

If you wish to proceed with my suggestions, then do this:
Scan with HijackThis then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows then click on "Fix Checked:

Run your cleanmgr, then empty the recycle bin and restart the computer. You can post a new log for a final check if your wish. Since there is no "malware" an you are clean and I will post some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online.
