Please click here for instructions on how to set up a HijackThis folder.

Finally after running both Spybot SD and Ad-Aware SE, RESCAN with HijackThis and POST your logfile in the same thread using ‘Add Reply’.
Thanks LittleEagle,
I followed your instructions (ran the programs 2x, rebooting in between on both users). The spybot is coming up with the Z-demon now ( the germanic looking phrase daten—- fur- or something like that. I haven't seen that in a while) I still see the winstat.exe.

I'm also getting a spybot that comes up everytime I open a user that I didin't download (it was opening before you told me to download it) but it never worked. Got error message with it –some thing about autoexec bat -something–not compatible with ms-dos 'no' to terminate or ther was ignore button.

Here is the second Hijackthis log.

I would go to add and remove programs and remove,

K:\Program Files\SpyRemover
K:\Program Files\Upromise_RemindU
K:\Program Files\Windows AdStatus

The following have randomly named file name, and as such are normally malware.
Follow the process tree. Right click on the file and go to Properties.
Then go to the Version tab to see what company name it's from:

K:\WINDOWS\hwpohsv.exe

Reboot and Rescan with HJT and post a new log here.
ok-I went to 'add/remove programs' removed SpyRemover with no prob., Upromise wouldn't leave via 'change/remove' option. I did a search (fromstart button) on upromise and all that came up I deleted; Windows AdStatus (from add/remove programs window) gave message that it may already be uninstalled would I like to remove it from list? I selected yes–but suspect it is not removed.

The K:\WINDOWS\hwpohsv.exe seemed to be a pest patrol quarentine file–I put in recycle.

After reboot, here is next log:

How to show hidden files and folders in Windows Instructions here

Reboot and Rescan with HJT and post a new log here. From both users.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
I followed instructions by checking appropriate boxes. When I rebooted in 'safe mode' the only one I could find to delete was 'windows ad status'. Checked hidden folders and found nothing. Then rebooted in 'normal' mode and ran HJT. Here is my log and spouse's:

Computer seems to be behaving fine–only residual I've noticed so far is blue window popping up on opening of user window that says: 16 bit sindows subsystem (across top), then inside: K:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and microsoft windows applications. Choose 'close' to terminate
the application. Then boxes to click for 'close' or 'ignore'

Thanx
I see no reason to have musicmatch in your trusted zone. O15 - Trusted Zone: *.musicmatch.com O15 - Trusted Zone: *.musicmatch.com (HKLM) Check them for removal. or in the other log F3 - REG:win.ini: load=K:\OPLIMIT\ocraware.exe is a Microsoft Office Application file
