Hi,
It seems like just yesterday I was hear struggling with a hompage hijacker. Since I got that fixed I've been doing regular checks of my system and SS&D keeps turning up something called "DSO Exploit" with 5 entries. I'm not really sure what it is, but Panda scanner recently caught a virus related to a dialer on my computer, I don't know if they are related. Any information about what this is would be very helpfull.
Thanks,
Sam

Oh yeah, the log, hehe

Sorry it took so long for me to get back. Thank you very much for all of your help. My computer is behaving fine, except every couple days Norton pops up saying it succesfully quarantined something called accessnow.exe in my temp folder. I don't know if it is related. Here is the new log.
Thanks again,
Sam

I really hate to continue to use this thread, especially when you have already been so helpfull and I didn't even have a SS&D problem, but I am really confused. I havn't even used my computer for the past week, but when I booted it up today, I had OCAT yellow pages (which I promptly uninstalled) as well as a hompage hijacker alongside a message from Norton that said it was quarantining a accessnow.exe trogan virus update! Please help!
Thanks again,
Sam

Hello bassmarch,

Little Eagle will be gone for a few days, so I help out.

Run Hijack This again and put a check by these.

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Restart in Safe Mode:
Restart your computer.

Press F8 after the Power-On Self Test (POST) is done. If the Windows Advanced Options Menu does not appear, try restarting and then pressing F8 several times after the POST screen.
Choose the Safe Mode option from the Windows Advanced Options Menu then press Enter.

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Search for and delete this Folder if listed:
C:\Program Files\STHomePage

Do this also if these Temp Folders are part of your OS.

Also in safe mode navigate to the C:\Windows\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Next navigate to the C:\Documents and Settings\(EVERY LISTED Profile USER)\Local Settings\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Finally go to Control Panel > Internet Options. On the General tab under "Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files". Put a check by "Delete Offline Content" and click OK. Click on the Programs tab then click the "Reset Web Settings" button. Click Apply then OK.

Empty the Recycle Bin

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.
