I’d appreciate some help with a problem. I’m intermittently having my browser hijacked by this site: http://findyourgirl.net/index.php

The following sites are also added and (re-added after being deleted) to my web favourites:

http://www.findspyware.net/links/?said=66&q=Block+Popups
http://www.personal-photo.net/links.php?qq…+Dating&said=66
http://www.personal-photo.net/links.php?qq=Dating&said=66

http://www.trustedpharmacy.net/view.php?cat=Xanax

http://www.trustedpharmacy.net/view.php?cat=VIAGRA
http://money-athome.net/search.php?said=66&qq=work+at+home

I’ve tried running Spybot Search & Destroy, CWShredder and Ad-Aware SE but the problem persists.

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

HowToShowHiddenFiles - <—enable this

Press Control-Alt-Del to enter the Task Manager.
Click on the Processes tab and end the following processes if listed:

C:\WINNT\TEMP\EU6AD7.EXE

Exit the Task Manager when finished

Now delete the contents of this folder - NOT THE FOLDER _ JUST WHAT'S INSIDE!!

C:\WINNT\TEMP

Download THIS file to your desktop.

Right-click on the deldomains.inf file and select 'Install'

Once it is finished your Zones should be reset.

Note, if you use SpywareBlaster and/or IE/Spyads, it will be necessary to re-install the protection both afford. For SpywareBlaster, run the program and re-protect all items. For IE/Spyads, run the batch file and reinstall the protection

Clean out temporary and TIF files. Go to Start > Run and type in the box: cleanmgr. Let it scan your system for files to remove. Make sure these 3 are checked and then press *ok* to remove:

Temporary Files
Temporary Internet Files
Recycle Bin

Reboot and post a fresh HJT log and lets see how we did, MrC
Thanks MrC,

I really appreciate the help. Here goes:

Okay there was no sign of C:\WINNT\TEMP\EU6AD7.EXE

I deleted the contents of C:\WINNT\TEMP, however there was one EXE that could not be deleted as the "source file was in use". The file name was ZIFD37.EXE. I checked again after a reboot and another file had replaced it (DZ19FZ.EXE) which also could not be deleted for the same reason.

I installed deldomains.inf and ran cleanmgr, deleting the Temporary Files, Temporary Internet Files & Recycle Bin as requested.

I also did the SpywareBlaster and IE-Spyads thing you suggested.

The offending links are no longer in my Favourites, and so far there hasn't been another browser hijack, but they were intermittent.

Thanks again. Steve
