Download FxAgentB.exe from HERE and save it to your desktop. After downloading, double-click the FxAgentB file to run it and the program will scan your entire hard drive - this may take a while. When it is done, it will generate a log file called FxAgentB.log - save that information as you will need to paste it here later. Reboot when done.
Next click HERE to download CWShredder by Merijn Bellekom and run it, hit 'fix' as opposed to 'scan only'. If you already have CWShredder, click 'Check for update' and make sure you are running version 2.12. Reboot when done.
Then click HERE to download Ad-Aware SE and install. Before scanning click on "check for updates now" to make sure you have the latest reference file. Click "Start", select "Perform Full System scan" and "Next" to start the scan. When the scan is finished, the screen will tell you if anything has been found, click "Next". The bad files will be listed, right click the pane and click "Select all objects" - this will put a check mark in the box at the side, click "Next" again and click "OK" at the prompt "# objects will be removed. Continue?".
Reboot when done, rescan with HijackThis and post a new log here, together with the FxAgentB log.
1) Download and ran FxAgentB. No log was produced. It appeared to scan but the result was an error message reading…Backdoor.Agent.B has not been found on your computer. I deleted the desktop icon and tried again. Same result.
2) Downloaded and ran SpySubtract. No version 2.12. Version downloaded was 2.48 which upgraded to 2.60. 25 suspect items were identified. There was no "fix" option, hopefully delete is the same. The deleted items disappeared from the list but there was no confirmation of successful deletion from SpySubtract. Curiously I got two virus download notifications from Symantec during the scan.
3) Ran Ad-aware scan (I already had Ad-aware). 15 critical items were identified. That is one more than usual (the other 14 reappear every scan). They were deleted.
4) Ran a new Hijack This scan. The log file is below.

You will need to disable Spysubtract.
Scan with hijackthis and put a check beside these lines and choose FIX.

Scrap that last reply. I uninstalled SpySubtract and downloaded CW Shredder (the right one this time). Then, I went back to the beginning and started over.
1) Still no Backdoor.Agent.B
2) CW Shredder found no Cool Web Search.
3) Ad-aware found 14 critical items, all listed as Cool Web Search (what's up with that?).
4) Ran Hijack This. Deleted 4 of the 5 the specified items (the fifth wasn't there).
Then I ran Hijack This again. Here is the most recent log.

If you dont have these three programs I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster,Spywareguard and IESPY AD. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.
It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.
Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.
