Possible Spyware Problem

All,

I believe I am having a Spyware problem that Spybot and Ad-Aware is not detecting.

Every few minutes, my computer goes into "think" mode - the hourglass comes on, and whatever I am doing is deselected. Example: If I am typing in a window or app (like I am now), the computer acts like it is processing something and deselects the window I am in. I can then reselect the window and continue.

I am guessing that it is a Spyware problem. I have disconnected the computer from the internet, and it still happens. But that does not surprise me. I am running Zone Alarm Pro 5, and there are no strange apps accessing the internet as far as I can tell.

A possible related probelm: when playing children's educational games, the computer re-boots itself. I believe it is an un-related RAM or video card issue, but both this and the above problem appeared at about the same time.

Here is the log (NOTE: The logfile says IE 6.0, but I use Firefox as my default browser, if that matters):

Thank you for your time.

Nardo
Sorry for the delay

Close all Browser and Program Windows and have HijackThis fix the following.
Do this by checking the box beside each and then clicking on Fix checked.

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - ~CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497} - (no file)

Reboot and Rescan with HJT and post a new log here.
I ran the scan and that file is gone. I believe I have isolated the problem, it was Earthlink's Total Access software. I removed it and the problem is gone. Thank you for your help. Nardo
Glad we could help :D

To help keep you clean follow the recommendations in Tony's article here:
So how did I get infected in the first place?
