This is the log from my brother's, who I am visting, computer. His daughter has downloaded tons of cute, cool programs from the internet and has piled tons of nastys onto his computer. I ran adaware and spybot which removed more hijacks, adware, malware, etc than I have ever seen. Any assistance with anything else that can be removed to help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello elmasphx, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. If you are serious about cleaning this computer, my suggestion is to get the resource hog Incredimail off it. I will include everything that should go, and if you do not want to remove this item, skip the instructions for that removal.

Use Add Remove programs to uninstall this item:
C:\PROGRA~1\INCRED~1\bin\IMApp.exe

Scan with HHijackThis and check each of these items:

Ok Elmas, You did a great job, and you are funny too…lol. Nothing left but a bad case of aol. Besides that the log is clean, and here are some great ideas from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to keep you clean and safe online:

I will toss in these links because you are a fellow comedian and might want to look to find what is there that is not malware but "questionable" as far as if it should be running, etc.

Thanks pskelley. Many thanks for all your help and info. I love the hijack this and the tomcoyote forums… I always end up being drafted to "fix" all my friends and family's computers. Most of what I do is simple like adaware and spybot, but the forum really helps me go the extra step… especially when they have really bad nasties on their computer. Unfortunately, most of my friend's computers and brains are infected with the AOL9.0 virus. I print out little "friends don't let friends AOL" stickers and put them on their computers, but most don't think it is funny. Oh, well. If it's not fun, it's not worth having! Thanks again, Elmasphx
Right you are, when I purchased my newest computer a year or so ago I searched for and deleted any reference to aol, and it will be a cold day in aol when any of it gets back…lol. Their policies towards consumers really bad. Here is one cute little item they download to computers with AIM I think it is with out the knowledge of the users even.

I wonder if they are behind Incredimail? or MSN Messenger Plus with the LOP and all?

I just wanted to take the time to agree with you and let you know that free training opportunites are available in the event you ever wish to help others or even learn more about how to protect you own computer. If this is ever the case, let us know and we will show you the way. God Bless…pskelley
