Hi, can somebody please help me?

I have followed the instructions from www.spywareinfo.com in order to remove hijackers from my computer. However, they still remain.

Running S&Destroy I continuously get 5 DSO exploit and 2 Common Hijack spywares.

I find when I open internet explorer for the first time, I get a "spyware infection" message from internet explorer coming from a location in C:\ that doesnt allow me to navigate to any website unless I go to some links which will help fix the problem. The links are spyware removal websites, that I need to pay money for.

Hi and welcome to the forum. :D

Step # 1

Please download and run CWShredder. Make sure that all browser windows are closed with the exception of Cwshredder and choose FIX.

Please download and run Spybot & AdAware SE Then follow the instructions in the link below to run.

Then do a virus scan here >>> Trend Micro

Scan with hijackthis and put a check beside these lines and choose FIX. O2 - BHO: (no name) - {4C1B116F-2860-46db-8E6C-B4BFC4DFD683} - C:\WINDOWS\ietlbass.dll Then reboot. Check to see if you can reset your homepage in IE. Let me know please. Post a new log also.

Thanks for your help. Deleting that file seems to have worked. I can reset my IE homepage now and it stays changed.

If you dont have these three programs I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard and IESPY AD. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. In my signature below is also a tutorial on how to harden IE, a good read and very helpful to stop these things in the future. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on.
