No Bots and "Status System Clean". You know, as we continue to spend time on this it seems less and less important. After all we did clean up some huge problems. Thanks for the support!!!! A donation will be forthcoming to support the site. Thanks Chuck

The following have randomly named file names, and as such are normally malware.
Follow their process tree. Right click on the file and go to Properties.
Then go to the Version tab to see what company name it's from:
If it's from some name you never heard of or if it's blank,
Please check for removal and delete the file in bold also.
O4 - Global Startup: yufupy.exe

Reboot in SAFE MODE.

Delete the following file(s) listed in bold
C:\WINNT\system32\yiqioy.exe
yufupy.exe<< check first

Close all Browser and Program Windows and have HijackThis fix the following.
Do this by checking the box beside each and then clicking on Fix checked.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Narrator] C:\WINNT\system32\yiqioy.exe
O4 - Global Startup: yufupy.exe
Reboot in safe mode Rescan with HJT and post a new log here.
This get's stranger by the minute.

In the normal mode, neither file is visable using an explorer search.
In the safe mode, system32/yiqioi.exe is there but can not be deleted saying the file may be in use.

Neither refernce that was in the safe file above is there now in either the normal or safe modes, however, a previous reference to a stored web page attached to a contact in the ACT data base seems to have reappeared in 09. We deleted it about a week ago and now it's back, all by itself. I removed both lines but I saved the file, below, so you could see it. This is in the safe mode.

Copy the dllcompare.exe to your desktop.
it is preset to scan the System32 directory, so nothing other than you clicking the [Run locate.com] button is required.
When the scan is complete, you will see in blue Completed the scan, Click Compare to Continue .

It will sort through the files it found and determine which should be flagged as "No access" and display them in the lower box.

Click the button [Make a Log of what was Found]

This get's stranger by the minute.

I ran dll compare and "No items found" Unfortunately my computer is now freezing up and sometimes rebooting. I did an adaware scan and it found 45 items this morning. I did the scan again tonight and it found 8 new items. I haven't opened the browser all day. As for the other link, I looked at it and I am very uncomfortable getting into that level of detail. I didn't understand how to find half the things I saw. Thanks Chuck
You know, in my business I find that sometimes it's easier to run around the perimeter than to run in head first. I reformatted the drive and started clean. I really appreciate all your help. You've done a great job. They always compare spam and spybots to junk mail when defending thier right to send it, but my junk mail does not jump out of the garbage can and resuse to go to the dump. It's time for this to be illegal. Thanks again Chuck

To help keep you clean follow the recommendations in Tony's article here:
So how did I get infected in the first place?
