Please help :(
Hello danedwardsuk, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. I see no antivirus program running on your computer. If this is the case, it is just not safe to go online without this protection. Please choose one of these three free antivirus programs, then download & install it. I suggest AVG by Grisoft.

http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
http://www.my-etrust.com/microsoft/index.c…582BE49AF2FC446

I also see no third party fireware installed. Make sure your ICF in Windows Xp is turned on. You will be wanting the protection SP2 has to offer, the follow two links will show you how to order a free installation CD, and give you much of the information you should know before installing SP2.

There is an indicator in your log that CWShredder should be run, please use the following tutorial to download and run CWShredder. Make sure you Check for Updates, and choose FIX instead of Scan.
Let me know what is located along with the next post.

Hows it looking?

Once again thanks for your help with this. It really is very much appreciated.
OK Dan, Your log looks clear of malware. There is more you should consider doing, and I will cover it below.

I've held off SP2 so far cause I've heard of numerous people having problems with it. You recommend getting it on my system?

This is a personal decision, SP2 has many good features especially the fact that the security issues are set to on by default. If you had SP2, you would have been constantly prompted to do something with the antivirus issue. The firewall is turned on automatically and the undates from windows are downloaded automatically by default. A lot of peole get infected becauce they do not know what to do to stop it, SP2 does this by defalt for them.

While you are clear of malware, there are items that you might want to know more about to make decisions if you should keep it, turn it off, etc. Use this one below to reference this point:

O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OSA9.EXE
Simply typing the .exe "OSA9.EXE" without quotes into http://www.google.com returns the information at CastleCops that you can read in the link below about the product. You can do this with each item in your logfile to educate you and help you decide what you need and what is wasting your resources. I use this rule, if I am NOT sure, leave it alone.
http://computercops.biz/startuplist-2586.html Here are links you can use along with a current HJT log to get this information:

http://www.answersthatwork.com/Tasklist_pages/tasklist.htm
http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_index.htm
http://computercops.biz/StartupList.html
http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php

Found ietlbass.dll - got rid of the bleeder. What was it?

This item is does not identify with the Google search engine, since it knows of billions of items if it does not identfiy chances are 99.99% that it is bad, a search does show where it is removed by other forums that have come into contact with it. My guess is that it is a trojan used by malware writers (and they constantly change the names) to install the garbage on your computer.

While you are clean here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay that way.
