I need help! I visited a site to get somehttp://www.enhancemysearch.com/admin/results.php?q=Gamecube&id=47';return false;" href="" TITLE="More Info…"> GameCube cheats to help my son and my computer was infected with a trojan(Nortonhttp://www.enhancemysearch.com/admin/results.php?q=Antivirus&id=49';return false;" href="" TITLE="More Info…"> Antivirus warned me immediately but could not repair it) and my browser was hijacked. I ran a full system scan with Norton as well as with Ad-Aware which showed tons of spyware. I then downloaded Spybot as well as Hijack this. I did try the Add Remove programs but the programs keep reappearing. I also tried deleting cookies and all other temporary folder junk but everything keeps coming back. I went into my registry and did delete a few of the things but it just gets triggered again when I restart my computer. I can't even access the internet from my desktop and usually have to go into the favorites folders to get online. This is craziness. I also get a lot of pop-ups when I'm not connected to the internet. I use Popup Popper(which has always worked GREAT) but that isn't putting a dent into all the popups now. Norton cannot do anything. I have read a lot of the posts here and I guess I am not alone which makes me feel a little better. I will wait to hear from you before I proceed with anything further. Thankyou for your time and expertise. cscally

Reboot when done. Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the !Submit folder on the C:\ drive and inside you will the files removed by TheKillbox - zip them up individually and send to this e-mail address including a link to this thread in the body of the email.

Rescan with HJT and post a new log
I followed the instructions. When using Killbox, it could not delete the first two files (CSBB\CSBB.DLL) and the second file listed (CxtPls\cxtpls.dll). I did download and then ran the missingfilesetup.exe and then used the Killbox again but still could not delete those two files. Whenever I did try, I would lose access to my desktop and I would then have to restart my computer. I followed all other instructions. I tried to e-mail the Submit files deleted by Killbox but the e-mail was returned and said the e-mail address was invalid. Could you let me know where to send the files. THANKYOU for your help and your time. I so appreciate it. Have a great day and I will await further instructions.

The email address is OK - try sending the zip files separately and see if that helps. Alternatively try [removed]

Could you also send these files:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\zlbcz.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\SYSsfitb.dll

Then, make sure that you have no browser windows open as this could prevent the fix from working properly. Open HijackThis, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

O2 - BHO: SDWin32 Class - {67D6B604-AE0E-4156-942B-FBE37E5D2E55} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\zlbcz.dll
O3 - Toolbar: searchforit - {C109664B-CEB1-420b-B353-D55A561536DD} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\SYSsfitb.dll

Reboot when done, rescan with HJT and post a new log here.
I followed your instructions. Here is the new HijackThis log file. I could not send the zipped file C:Windows\System32\SYSsfitb.dll as it was not there. Also, could not remove the Searchforit toolbar from the Hijackthis log as it was not there either. This may be working. I haven't had one popup since I've been online for the past hour. Yesterday, I did go into Add/Remove Programs and got rid of the SEarchforit toolbar from the list. Normally, when I reboot my computer, the searchforit toolbar will automatically reinstall itself. It did not happen this time. THANKYOU, I THINK IT IS WORKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to let you know that I went into the Killbox again and was able to delete the files that I was unable to delete yesterday. It was these two files… C:\Program Files\CSBB\CSBB.DLL C:\Program Files\CxtPls\cxtpls.dll Yesterday, everytime I tried to delete these two files, I would lose access to my desktop and then have to reboot my computer. Also, I am still POP UP FREE since I have been online for the past three hours. YIPEE!! I'll await further instructions if you have any. Thanks again!! cscally
I went and ran Ad-aware, Spybot, and Hijackthis and all are free and clean of those obnoxious pests and you sir - are the best!! I am very grateful. Since actions speak louder than words, I will go and donate to this site as you people do not have to do this. I know my way away a computer but I must say the directions you gave me could not have been more basic and easy to manuever. I went and downloaded "Spyad" that was recommended on this site and just installed. I do have one remaining question. Why did I have to send the files that I removed to you and did I have to zip them to protect your computer?? I like to understand the how and why of what fixed my computer. Also, I received an e-mail from PayPal and would like to know what you think of it. Here is what it said….

We recently noticed one or more attempts to log in to your PayPal account from a foreign IP address and we have reasons to believe that your account was hijacked by a third party without your authorization.

If you recently accessed your account while traveling, the unusual log in attempts may have been initiated by you. However, if you are the rightful holder of the account, click on the link below to log into your account and follow the instructions.

http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd= login-run

If you choose to ignore our request, you leave us no choice but to temporally suspend your account.

Do you think that occurred from the spyware/trojan we removed or is this something else to be concerned with? Thanks again for your time and patience!! I will recommend this site to everyone. ;) ;) ;) ;) Colleen (cscally)
Your other questions:

The files you sent to me are checked and sent on to various malware removing and Antivirus companies so that they can be added to the detections. That way they can be removed automatically instead of manually.

I asked you to zip them to give them a better chance of getting through antivirus scanners - exe's and dll's are sometimes routinely blocked.

And thanks for your support - any donation to help keep us online is much appreciated. :D
