Hello skick, Welcome to TomCoyote forum, The one you will see most often is this one: C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe and yes, that is normal and you can read about it here: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=314056
Others will also often be open more than once, like Internet Explorer. If you are interested, later I will supply several links where you can learn about each item running. Please let me know if you wish that information.

You still have your HijackThis.exe in a Zip file in the Temporary directory. It needs to be in it's own folder to store backups for safety and logfiles you create. Please use this download tutorial to correct this: http://www.netstar.me.uk/hjt/hjt.html

We will remove this item: http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/pest/pe…px?id=453086763 Please make sure your HijackThis.exe is safely positioned prior to starting the HJT fix.

Scan with HijackThis and check each of these line items:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…//www.yahoo.com

Close all programs and browser windows then click on "Fix Checked"

Clean like this: Start, Run type "cleanmgr" without the quotes then ok. Allow windows to remove anything it locates. Empty the recycle bin and restart the computer. Using Add Reply post a new log along with your comments. I notice you did not complain of other issues other than:

Were there any other issues?

Thank you so much for the quick reply! Thanks for assuring me that multiple running processes was normal. I also fixed what you suggested as well. Was I infected with something? Is that why you said "I notice you did not complain of other issues other than…"? If my husbands comuputer was infected with something we didn't notice it. We run AVG, Spybot SD, and adaware regularily. Thanks again for your help and here is the new log just to make sure it is clean:

Hello skick, I want you to know that Joe has a great wife to care for the computer like this. :) The infection that you had was a boarderline adware infection. The item clogs the computer and slows it down, and gives you a little search ability for putting up with that. It is also suggested that information may be collected. If you need seach ability, I suggest you use what I consider the best: http://www.google.com/ This was the only the only item I saw, and I was just looking for symptoms that might help in future analysis:

Was I infected with something? Is that why you said "I notice you did not complain of other issues other than…"?,

I do want to point to this item: O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Works Calendar Reminders.lnk = ?
I had intended to remove it because of the (=?) at the end . It is a valid Works Calendar reminder, and as such is doing no harm, but probably is not working correctly. You may remove it with HJT if you wish, just follow the earlier HJT instructions for removing an item, or you may leave it if you do not use it.

Now to the good stuff, Your log is "Clean", here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss and ChrisRLG to help you stay that way. I personally use the following free programs on my computers:

http://forums.net-integration.net/index.php?showtopic=3051
http://russelltexas.com/malware/allclear.htm
http://www.cjwd.demon.co.uk/compsafetyonline.html

Ad-aware SE Personal
Spybot S&D
SpywareBlaster
SpywareGuard
IE-Spyad

Though you have not asked for them, since it is almost Christmas, as a special gift, I will include links to programs to help you discover what is running on your computer. Use the .exe at the end of the line or the name of the item to discover this information and you might need to use a couple of the websites in your search.
