Hi there,

I've just purchased Spyware Dr thinking it would clean up my w32 Trojan and sadly it doesn't seem to have worked. I've also got Ad-aware and Avast..but four persistent infections keep popping up in Spyware.

Here is a copy of my hijacked file. I'd really appreciate if you could help as my machine is running really slowly at times.

Hi Cah26, and welcome to the TomCoyote forum :wavey:

Firstly, I notice that you are running HijackThis from a Temporary folder. We need to put HijackThis into its own folder, so that it can create backup files when we perform a fix.
To do this:
Open My Computer, then double-click on the icon for C:\. In the menu bar, File->New->Folder.
That will create a folder named New Folder, which you can rename to "HJT". Now you have C:\HJT folder. Extract HijackThis.exe into the C:\HJT folder and run it from there.

Now click on Start | Run and type CLEANMGR and hit enter. Click OK and when presented with a list of options, check the following boxes: Temporary Internet Files, Temporary Files, Recycle Bin.
This will speed up the scans that follow.

Go to Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs and Remove any of the following that appear:
"Windows AdTools", "Windows AdService", "Winad Client" or "Windows TaskAd".

Now make sure that all browsers and other windows are closed except for HijackThis.
Put a check against the following and then click the "Fix checked" button:

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://uk.red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customi…fo/bt_side.html
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Windows AdService] C:\Program Files\Windows AdService\WinAdServ.exe

Then delete this entire folder: C:\Program Files\Windows AdService

Now Reboot your PC and then post a fresh HijackThis log by Replying to this thread. Also please advise if Spyware Doctor still reports anything.
Due to inactivity this topic will be closed.

To help keep you clean follow the recommendations in Tony's article here:
So how did I get infected in the first place?
