Hello, this is not the good place to post a hijack this log, you can do that here: http://forums.tomcoyote.org/index.php?showforum=27

And, here a few sites to scan your pc for virusses:

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp

http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/co…n_principal.htm

http://www.bitdefender.com/scan/licence.php

http://www.ravantivirus.com/scan/indexn.php

http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_frame.asp

http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/default…id=ie&venid=sym

http://www.kaspersky.com/scanforvirus

I hope that the virus get away……..

No malware items in the log.

It appears you have TWO antivirus products active??

This is not a good idea. I would suggest uninstalling one of them (the "rule of thumb" is the LAST one installed should be the FIRST one to go) then rebooting.

Also, if you can post an error number, or error message, it may be helpful in tracking down the problem.
:)
the error message is "Winword has caused an error in WINWORD.EXE, Winword will now close. If you continue to experience problems, try restarting your computer" Neither of the antivirus software i have seem to be tracking down a problem, and if they do, they say the problem couldn't be removed. Yeah, I have avg and spybot active… avg was the last one installed… should i remove it? and why is it a problem to have 2? i didn't know that! woops! also, if i can't fix this problem, is there anyway of downloading another copy of Word off the net and uninstalling the original? Thanks, Blondie

avg and spybot

That combo is OK…

This is the one that concerns me:

C:\PROGRAM FILES\NORTON ANTIVIRUS\NAVAPW32.EXE
C:\PROGRAM FILES\GRISOFT\AVG6\AVGCC32.EXE

I would suggest uninstalling one of them. It might not solve your problem, but it's just not a good idea to run two AV products at the same time.

I can't find anywhere to download windword.exe

That doesn't mean there isn't a place, just that I don't know here it is.
:)
ok, i just fixed the problem - the normal template was corrupted - not a virus at all! guess i was too quick to jump to the worst conclusion! but thanks for the help anyway! god bless!
Happy holidays!! :wavey:
