My computer is running VERY slow. Also, I am getting an error message when I boot up:

Microsoft Visual C ++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!
Program: Program Files\Common Files\Sonic\update manager\sgtray.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

I have run Ad-aware and spybot & re-booted. Can you please take a look at my log for any problems lurking?

Thanks,

Nichole

Sorry for the delay in getting back but we were off work for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Hope yours was good!

NicholeC
You have high CPU Usage which can be caused by the Blaster, Nachi or Welchia trojan. To remove this and several other trojans there is a tool which needs to be downloaded and run.

1. Please download Stinger and save it to your desktop

2. Double-click on the stinger.exe file and open the tool

3. Choose your entire hard drive to scan.

4. Choose Scan Now

5. Stinger will fix anything that it finds

6. Click the File menu and select Save report to file

7. Post the log file results here in this thread.
Ok, Little Eagle, here is the log file for Stinger. Thanks again. McAfee AVERT Stinger Version 2.4.5.1 built on Nov 19 2004 Copyright © 2004 Networks Associates Technology, Inc. All Rights Reserved. Virus data file v1000 created on Nov 19 2004. Ready to scan for 45 viruses, trojans and variants. Scan initiated on Tue Nov 30 07:53:29 2004 Number of clean files: 117488

I'm still getting the same Visual C++ Runtime Library error message at normal boot.

Thanks.
