Hi. This is driving me crazy.

Bazooka scanner finds Multimpp on my system (Win XP). I follow the removal instructions (remove 2 keys from registry, goto safe mode, delete c:\windows\multimpp.dll). Reboot, Rescan and its not there. Scan after a few minutes..and its back.

System seems to behave ok, except when the computer boots up there is a big delay before I have any access to the quick launch bar or the start button. Not so with the desktop icons, which work fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

Here is my HJT Log:

Any help will be much appreciated!
Thanks
1. I see you are running Spywareguard and Spybot which is good but they will interfer with the fixies can you turn them off while we do fixes. 2. Ok open Hijackthis and click scan. Then tick and fix the following in Hijackthis with all windows closed except Hijackthis. R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = about:blank R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = about:blank R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497} - (no file) O2 - BHO: MultimppObj Class - {002EB272-2590-4693-B166-FBD5D9B6FEA6} - C:\WINDOWS\multimpp.dll O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [hresthlzoodm] C:\WINDOWS\System32\ueheqzc.exe 3. Reboot and delete the files. C:\WINDOWS\multimpp.dll C:\WINDOWS\System32\ueheqzc.exe 4. Reboot again then reenable Spywareguard and Spybot and post a new Hijackthis log here in a reply.
Therock247uk, your suggestion worked like a charm! Thanks a lot, I really like people like you who take time to help others. This was really driving me crazy!! Now I run my spyware scanner every 5 minutes just for the pleasure of seing that lovely message 'No Spyware Detected'!

By the way, any ideas on my question about the quick launch bar and the start button? The are slow to respond when I boot up, while at the same time the desktop icons work fine. Not critical but annoying.

Here is the new logfile

1. Ok the only thing i can see in your Hijackthis log that could be slowing down your pc is the following. It is know to slow PCs down. O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OSA9.EXE Fix it in Hijackthis and tell me if your Start and Quick launch bar are quicker.
Well, before I read your suggestion I installed the new version of direct X, which made a big improvement. I also tried your suggestion and things are definately better now! Thanks again. Phivos
