My Favorites Folder Hijacked: Pls. Review My Log

Hi people,
My IE Start page is redirected every single time to http://s-redirect.com/?a=2&b=n-abc and i find all kinds of porn shortcuts on my Favorites folder.

First, go to task manager (ctrl+alt+delete) and end task on the following if present:

Rescan with HijackThis and click the following items:

With all other windows closed, click fix checked.

Reboot into safe mode and delete the following files(How to start computer in Safe Mode):

C:\WINDOWS\System32\fnvshple.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\winmm64.exe
C:\WINDOWS\PEPEhh.exe

You may need to enable show all files to find them.

* Double-click My Computer.
* Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
* Click the View tab.
* Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
* Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
* Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
* Click Apply, and then click OK.

Rescan with HijackThis and post a new log as a reply to this thread.

thanks a bunch dude. I did everything as you said and my home page is no longer hijacked ( or it seems atleast), but my favorites folder still got all kindsa porno sites shortcuts on it. PLease help on this one too…

hey alan, as a matter of fact i think my browser is no longer redirecting to that page and i manually deleted all links in my favorites folder ( as i had done before; but only to find they have come on again after restart or after some time) and this time they did not reappear…i dunno if this is the end or just ane of those rare circumstances but its a good thing i saw after quites ome time on my computer….so thanks for that piece of advice dude…let me know if you found anything from my log. just thought i'd let you know _gp_

Your new log is clean. Let us know if you have any more problems.

Now that everything is fixed, I suggest that you get these programs:
Spyware Blaster - Blocks many bad things from installing on your computer.
SpywareGuard - Realtime protection from spyware installation attempts
ie-spyad - Puts over 4000 bad URL's into your restricted sites.
Update these regularly.

Be sure to keep Windows and your Anti-virus updated.
