thanks a million in advance :thumbup:
You have one (or more) of these programs running on your machine and that is good.

Winpatrol
Spywareguard
Spybot s&d (Teatimer option)

But while we do the next part of the fix for your problems it(they) will complain and give you the option of cancelling the changes we are doing with hijackthis.

When they do, please allow those changes to be made, or the problem lines will not be removed from your hijackthis log.

Please go to add and remove programs and remove,
EliteToolBar{if there}

Close all Browser and Program Windows and have HijackThis fix the following.
Do this by checking the box beside each and then clicking on Fix checked.

currently, my explorer seems to respond pretty slowly when ever I open up my win explorer.
shut down seems to be a little slow as well…

so is my computer "cleared" of spywares now?

and how often do I have to repeat this procedures?
You have one more to get rid of:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {28CAEFF3-0F18-4036-B504-51D73BD81ABC} - (no file)

Please read through the ideas and free software listed below that will help to keep your computer clean.
Some of these you may already have installed or may have done already.

Install a firewall.ZoneAlarm FREE

Ensure that an Antivirus is updated weekly and running. AVG antivirus from Grisoft is a very good FREE antivirus program.

Make sure you have the latest critical updates from windows update.

SpywareBlaster will prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.

IE-SPYAD puts over 4000 known 'bad' sites into your IE restricted zone so that they cannot install malware on your PC.

Google toolbar has a very good built in popup blocker with a nice search bar. To provide privacy, select disable advanced features when installing.

Check your system for latest virus definitions with an online virus scan every week or two.
TrendMicro HouseCall
eTrust AntiVirus Web Scanner
Panda ActiveScan

Check your system for latest trojan definitions with an Online trojan scan also every week or two.

And also see this link for additional security information.
So how did I get infected in the first place?

Please consider using Firefox

thanks a million. I've another problem now though… Last night, after I've performed the above mentioned stuffs. When I shut down my pc, the shutdown screen went awry(as in the colour changed for the blue sky turned grey and such) After that when I tried to restart my pc. However, before the screen got to bios status disply. It prompted me with "Insert system disk or press enter to reboot" :scratch: Did my harddisk crash or did my MBR get corrupted? I can't boot from cdroms as well when I tried to do so with my windows cd. Btw I dual-boot my computer with Mandrake 10. I can't even see the lilo boot up as well… Any idea what I should do next? Thanks -_-;
