Hi guys,
I am working on cleaning up a pc for a friend of mine. It was riddled with viruses(aka virrii), spyware, adware etc…
I have run Spybot S&D and Adaware already…along with cleaning some stuff up manually. There is still a nasty porn dialer that tries to connect when he connects to AOL( it seems to be opening from IE somehow), and also some of that searchpage# junk….not sure what else is there. Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks for all the help in advance!
Here is the HijiackThis log:

Click here to download CWShredder by Merijn Bellekom and run it, hit 'fix' as opposed to 'scan only'. Reboot when done.

Click here to download Spybot Search & Destroy - install, update, scan and fix all RED items it finds. Reboot when done.

Click here to download Ad-Aware SE and install. Before scanning click on "check for updates now" to make sure you have the latest reference file. Then click the gear wheel at the top and make sure these options are checked green:

General>: "Automatically save log-file" and "Automatically quarantine objects prior to removal".

Scanning>: "Scan within archives", "Scan active processes", "Scan registry", "Deep-scan registry", "Scan my IE Favorites for banned URLs" and "Scan my Hosts file".

Tweaks> Scanning Engine>: "Unload recognized processes during scanning", "Ignore spanned files when scanning cab archives" and "Scan registry for all users instead of current user only".

Tweaks> Cleaning Engine>: "Automatically try to unload modules before deletion", "During removal, unload Explorer and IE if necessary", "Let Windows remove files in use at next reboot" and "Delete quanatined objects after restoring".

Click "Proceed" to save your settings, then click "Start", select "Perform Full System scan" and "Next" to start the scan. When the scan is finished, the screen will tell you if anything has been found, click "Next". The bad files will be listed, right click the pane and click "Select all objects" - this will put a check mark in the box at the side, click "Next" again and click "OK" at the prompt "# objects will be removed. Continue?".

Reboot when done. Rescan with HJT and post a new log here so that any remnants can be removed manually.

Also, click here to download a little script by Mosaic1 that reveals all running services in your system. Download, unzip and double-click getactiveservices.vbs (you may need to enable your antivirus program to run the file). This script will create and open a text file named Active.txt in the same folder as the script itself has been saved. It will then open Active.txt for you. Active text will list all active Services - copy and paste the contents of Active.txt in your next reply here.
Thanks for the quick response. I've followed all your instructions along with getting AVG virus scan to clean up a bunch of stuff beforehand and Win XP SP2. The Adaware config changes seemed to have made a bit of difference. Looks like there will need to be a bit of manual cleanup with your guidance. Thanks!

Here's the newest HijackThis and then the Active.txt below it:

Slightly unexpected result - let's see what happens. First of all could you click Start>Settings>Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs and uninstall Windows SyncroAd.

Click here, for instructions on how to enable hidden files and folders to be visible. After enabling, find, zip and send this:

C:\WINDOWS\EliteToolBar\ <– folder

to this e-mail address including a link to this thread in the body of the email.

Make sure that you have no browser windows open as this could prevent the fix from working properly. Open HijackThis, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

Reboot when done, rescan with HJT and post a new log here for a final check over.
I think that may have done it….though I'm sorry I misread your post when you said to email that zip of the EliteToolbar folder to you…I thought you said to delete it. Here's the HJT log:
