This has been nasty, I'd pay to fix.
Here is what I have -
IE 6.0 on XP home edition - both with latest patches/updates/service packs
Ad-Aware SE Pro with latest definitions on build 1.05 - no critical objects reported
Pest Petrol ver 6/7/2004 4.4.3.24 - no problems reported
Spybot ver 1.3 - no problems reported
Norton Anti-virus with latest updates - no virus reported
HijackThis v1.98.2 log attached herewith

Basically my IE begins "Not Responding", I have to kill it from Task List.
Then after many windows apps - even MS Office starts failing
I kill each app manually and I get the msg "report this to microsoft"
When I reboot, there are always weird named processes that holds up the
windows shutdown. I have to kill them and restart. These process names change all the times.

I don't know what is going on. I can't carry out my stuff. I am thinking of reloading from scratch but that is a lot of work, thought someone may have insight.

I do not know anything about hijackThis, I am a programmer and not a real XP guru or admin. I'd pay to someone knowledgable to help me. I have VNC server - in case a reference verifiable authority wants to look at my pc.

Here is the HijackThis log -

Hi welcome to TOM COYOTE FORUMS

I need you to answer several things before we can begin this clean up.
First
Did you install eFax system ? and has it cause you any problems prior to this?
Second
Which ISP are you with now ?
Third
What home and search page would you like to keep ?
Fourth
Do a search for this file
(go start button, click search, select search for all files and folders then check search system folders and hidden files and folders)
MicIPCReceiver.dll
Right click the file look for properties and
Write down the properties of the file or
maybe you know what the file does ?
Fifth
You may have a hidden infection
Please REBOOT a few times.
Take note that you SHOULD NOT run ADAWARE or SPYBOT

After that REBOOT and
