CLOSE ALL WINDOWS (even this one) AND PROGRAMS!!!!

Run Hijack This!
Click "Scan".
Then "check" the box to the left of these item(s):

About your question:

thought the svhost.exe file is a standard windows program?


I think you are referring to this process instead:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe

On an XP system, it should ALWAYS be in the system32 folder when in a log file. There may be other places the file is located on your machine and it is still OK so don't go searching for and deleting the other copies without advice first.

And this process should almost never be in the bottom part of a log in one of the lines beginning with "O4".

As you can see, the malware writer attempted to disguise the malware process by making the name similar to a valid process. This is a common practice among the evil-doers that write such trash.
