Very quick, maybe you all know it..
Copy anything on your screen by pressing the key Print Screen.
Than open Paint or Photoshop and use CTR V to paste.
Customize size if you need to.
I use this so often when programs do not communicate with each other.
Quick copy some window with info on settings.
Quick copy a fave website to send someone the view.
Etc, etc.

A minor variation on this....

<Alt>Print Scrn will just copy the contents of the current "active window".

Enjoy!!! :)

Yes this is used many times by our volunteers in some cases to get a view of what the user sees to diagnose particularly stubborn problems and is also a good way to share with your friends info that you see or talk about on the internet.

"PrtScn" for the full view of your monitor or
"Alt" and "PrtScn" for the active window you are looking at only
and then open MsPaint and paste the image captured by pressing
"Ctrl" and "v"

And if you don't need to show everything in the window, reduce the window size to show the relevant area. Very useful for pasting into instructions and quicker and neater than doing it afterwards.

I have used PrtSc in MS Word 2000 and WordPerfect12. Works great. :D

You can play a good joke on some one with print screen. Take a snap shot of their desk top paste it in to paint, save it, then set it as the desktop wall paper. Place all there icons in to one folder and stick it somewhere safe in the C drive, off of the desk top. Shrink the real task bar downwards. It now looks like their exactly like their desktop, apart from it will take them a while to notice they'll never be able to double click those folders to open them. :)

Aren't there some shortcuts that you cant move eg Internet Explorer? I moved all my desktop icons into a toolbar folder recently but there were a few that I couldn't move. Sounds like a good trick though :)

This will work with word 2003 and the free wordpad, but not with the notepad. The joke to play on someone by jamhay is very cool! I wish I would have thought of that a few months ago.
