i'm not sure where to post this, but has to do with my sound volume. i think, i was using sony headset, i have no speakers and they quit. i unplug them and i can hear i guess a small speaker in the tower? so i start using earbuds that came with a phone. they suddenly start to gradually lose volume. i've done updates, i installed new realtek hd audio. i run windows 10. i've gone through all the volumes there are that i can find and have failed system restore twice since it started...help please?

I am so sorry but it looks like you have our experts stumped.  This is outside my knowledge so I have no useful advice.

Perhaps if you could think of any additional information (though I don't know what it would be), then someone might suddenly come up with advice.

Hello Tom thanks for the reply. All I can say is it seems my spun is messed up by something. I have realtek HD audio and has always worked fine. I was using a behringer Q802usb mixer with an MXL 2000 mic in order to get the volume up on my pc recordings. The mixer had an accident and I have it up for a snowball usb mic which does ok but struggles with the volume. When I plug headphones into the front jack labeled so the sound continues to play from within the tower. I didn't know they had an internal speaker but it's coming from somewhere. I did see today where she was at a live show and noticed she was prompted for her audio output which i stepped in and the pull down listed two, selected was realtek HD audio #2. I've never seen that before, but the only sound from the pc is internal.

is it possible if at some time on the front where headphones plug in the 3.5 that it got bumped and possibly damaged the internal sound card? is there a way to test it, is it difficult to replace if need be?
