Hello everyone,

For office workers like me, Microsoft Office is one of the indispensable applications. Perhaps the two most used software are Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Currently, Microsoft Office has many versions over the years. I have just bought a new computer, so I want to ask everyone for advice on which version of Microsoft Office to buy to match the price.

Thanks everyone.

I sincerely doubt that anyone can answer this for you.  This is something you will have to determine for yourself.

Would you be interested in MS Office Home and Business 2019 @ $149.00, one time purchase?

Outlook, PowerPoint. Word and Excel. I got the one for student and missed out on Outlook. I should have done better homework.

Microsoft 365 is the best option since you can install the apps on every supported device (Windows 11, 10, 8.1, and macOS). It is also the only option that provides continuous updates at a low cost of ownership.

I agree; it is $69.for a year. I am allergic to subscriptions.

The choice of which Microsoft Office suite to buy depends on your specific needs and budget. Here are some factors to consider when making your decision:

Purpose: Think about what you will be using Office for. If you only need basic functionality for word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations, then Office Home and Student might be enough. If you need more advanced features like desktop publishing or email management, then you might want to consider Office Professional.

Devices: Consider the number and type of devices you need to use Office on. If you need to install Office on multiple devices like your desktop, laptop, and tablet, then you might want to consider a subscription-based service like Microsoft 365 Personal or Microsoft 365 Family, which allow you to install Office on multiple devices and also come with additional benefits like OneDrive storage and Skype minutes.

Office Home and Business: This one-time purchase includes the latest versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote for use on one PC or Mac. It costs $249.99.

Office Professional: This one-time purchase includes the latest versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, and Access for use on one PC. It costs $439.99.

The answer to this question depends on your specific needs and usage. Here are some factors to consider when deciding which Microsoft Office package to buy:
  • Features: Microsoft offers several Office packages with different features. Consider which programs and features you need. For example, if you only need the basics like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, then Microsoft 365 Personal may be sufficient. If you need additional programs like Access, Publisher, or Outlook, you may need a more advanced package.
  • Subscription or one-time purchase: Microsoft Office is available as a subscription-based service or a one-time purchase. The subscription-based service, called Microsoft 365, provides ongoing access to the latest versions of the software and may include additional features like cloud storage and Skype minutes. The one-time purchase option, called Office Home & Student, provides access to the software for a single computer.
  • Platform: Consider which operating system and device you'll be using the software on. Some versions of Microsoft Office are only compatible with certain operating systems.
  • Budget: Different Office packages come at different price points, so it's important to consider your budget.

When you make a one time purchase how long does the support last although you own it for perpetuity?

Is there a one time purpose that can be used by either Mac or PC if you switch? Ex. buy for pc then switch to Mac

I have read but it is not esy to  find definitive answers.

When I bought MS Office 2019 I knew it was for perpetuity but did not know there was a limit to the years of support for  mainstrean and then security.
