I'll wait to hear from you.
Hello again Satchfan,
Unfortunately I decided to wait to see if this problem re-occurred before I uninstalled/reinstalled Firefox, and it did about 90 minutes ago, with the same fake warning with orange background, same frozen computer…all this happened, again, right after I viewed some articles on the same two conservative websites: The New American, and WorldNetDaily.
I get the impression someone doesn't want people visiting certain conservative websites….anyway, I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled per your latest instructions. The only glitch was that Firefox installed itself automatically, so I had to uninstall both old and new and download a new copy via I.E., which worked. Have restored all bookmarks, only remains to install the extensions I had before.
Before I did that I scanned Firefox with Kaspersky, but nothing came up; scanned the computer with HitManPro, but no threats. Anything else I should do?
Thanks again for your invaluable help!
JI/MM
Now that it has been re-installed, let me know if that has solved the issue.
Satchman,
One more thought: after yesterday's incident I noticed that there was a URL present with this fake warning. I didn't get all of it because the computer froze, but here is what I got: naturificlecteesid.info/en?search= (and then a long string of letters, numbers, etc.)
Does this URL have any significance?
Thanks,
JI/MM

That appears to be a Canadian domain and nothing is known about it. The fact that I found nothing negative about it suggests that you can ignore it.
All the warnings prior to re-installing Firefox are irrelevant. Are there still no outstanding issues since re-installing it?

Thanks, no more issues. I've also downloaded Opera and am now using it for certain sites.
